SURAKARTA (August 23, 2021) - The Prof. Dr. Soeharso Center (Balai) of the Ministry of Social Affairs received the submission of participants for the Integrated Rehabilitation of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Civil Servants (PNS) with Disabilities of the Ministry of Defense, Skilled Level XLVl Batch II for Fiscal Year 2021.
This activity was carried out at the multifunctional building of Balai Prof. Dr Soeharso Surakarta and was attended by the Head of the Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan), Nana Sanardi and his staff. In his speech, Nanan said that this skilled level integrated rehabilitation is routinely carried out at Balai Prof. Dr Soeharso and it is already the XLVI batch II.
"The purpose of Integrated Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities is to make TNI and PNS with disabilities of the Ministry of Defense become independent, professional and have entrepreneurial skill," explained Nana.
During the pandemic, Integrated Rehabilitation participants are expected to adhere to the 5M health protocol, including wearing masks, washing hands with soap, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds and reducing mobility.
The Head of Balai Prof. Dr. Soeharso, Juena Br. Sitepu expressed her hope that Balai Prof. Dr. Soeharso and the Ministry of Defense can achieve the purposes of the Integrated Rehabilitation Program. The purposes of this program are to improve and develop physical abilities, skills, mental, social and psychological so that people with disabilities can build self-confidence and can carry out their social functions in society. Eventually, they become independent and productive human beings.
A total of 25 participants took part in this skilled level rehabilitation. Each participant was allowed to follow one skill at the Balai Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta for 3 months. The participants were divided into several skill majors. They were an auto mechanic's motorcycle major for 3 people; computer operator for 5 people; sewing for 6 people; graphic design for 4 people; visual-auditory kinesthetic (VAK) photography skills for 2 people; welding for 3 people and carpentry for 2 people.
The determination of the majors for the participants has been carried out at a case study session at the Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Defense in Jakarta which refers to health checkups, social psychology tests, interviews and assessments.
"Thank you on behalf Balai Prof.Dr.Soeharso for trusting us in carrying out the Integrated Rehabilitation at Skilled Level for TNI and PNS with Disabilities of the Ministry of Defense," said Juena.
“Balai Prof. Dr. Soeharso warmly welcomed the Integrated Rehabilitation Participants. Moreover, the instructors are ready to give all their abilities according to their respective fields,” she added.
"It is to be hoped that all the participants can properly and seriously take part in the whole series of activities so that this activity is useful under the expectations and purposes of the program," added Juena.
All activities are carried out according to the standard operating procedure of TNI and continue to adhere to health protocols due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
After the ceremony, there was a group photo session. The Head of the Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Defense, Nana Sanardi and his staff then took a tour at Balai Prof. Dr. Soeharso. They went to the Maintenance and Revalidation Installation, Prostheses and Orthoses Workshops to the visual-auditory kinesthetic room.
