Quick Response to Elderly in Subang Regency, Ministry of Social Affairs Hands Over ATENSI Assistance

SUBANG (29 August 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi
responded quickly to information on Sahuri and her family, the elderly whose
news had gone viral on the online media portal Newsshuter. id on August 28, 2021
because they were poor and needed help. The response to this case is following
the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini and the
Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat to immediately follow
up as needed.
The head of “Budhi
Dharma” Center, Pujiyanto, assigned social workers and nurses to immediately
respond to cases and assess the needs of the elderly and their families in
Sidajaya Village, Cipunagara District, Subang Regency. "Immediately
coordinate with relevant agencies and complete assessments, ensure that the
elderly have their rights and plan appropriate interventions in ATENSI
services," said Pujiyanto
The team then coordinated
with the Subang District Social Service Office, Cipunagara District Social
Welfare Personnel (TKSK) to obtain complete information regarding the condition
of Sahuri and her family, so that they could obtain Social Rehabilitation
Assistance (ATENSI) services according to the results of the needs assessment.
Based on the results of
coordination and direct meetings at the Sidajaya Village Office with the Subang
District Social Service, the Sidajaya Village Head, TKSK, PKH Cipunagara
Assistant, Subang Police Corruption Head Office and the Director of Bumdes
Sidajaya received information about elderly data on behalf of Sahuri and his
family who have received government assistance in the form of Non-Cash Food
Assistance (BPNT) and obtaining a Prosperous Family Card (KKS) and a Healthy
Indonesia Card (KIS).
Sahuri (77 years old)
lives with his wife and mother in his own house measuring 6 x 6 m whose
condition has cracked in some parts of the walls of his house, room facilities,
Toilet (MCK) which is far from feasible and economic conditions are less so
that he has not been able to repair his house.
The results of the health
checks carried out by nurses from "Budhi Dharma" Center, in general,
the physical condition of Grandpa Sahuri and his wife are healthy. Kasih,
Grandpa Sahuri's wife has decreased vision for the past 2 years so that all
daily activities to fulfill the daily life of his wife and mother are carried
out by Grandpa Sahuri. "Every day I cook what is available for my wife and
mother, because mother can no longer see, thank God, the rice is given by the
government. I want my wife to be healthy again, and can see normally,"
said Sahuri.
Based on the results of the needs assessment and
meetings with related parties, “Budhi Dharma” Center handed over ATENSI
assistance in the form of clothing and room facilities (mattresses, pillows,
sheets, carpets, cupboards, prayer rugs, cloth, thermos of hot water, water
kettle) and Nutrition (calcium milk, biscuits, shredded beef, and sardines).
The handover of ATENSI assistance from “Budhi Dharma” Center
accompanied by the Head of Sidajaya Village, Catra Guntara at Suhari's house.
"Thank you for the attention of the Ministry of
Social Affairs to our residents assisting with checking data, direct
health checks. Provide bedding, nutrition, and vitamins. Hopefully, this
assistance will be useful for Mr. Sahuri and his family," said Catra.
Social Worker of "Budhi Dharma" Center,
Dwiani hopes that the attention of the local government will continue to be
carried out so that the protection and fulfillment of the rights of the elderly
are well fulfilled. The team's appreciation for the response to the assessment
results and the local government's readiness to follow up on the health
examination of Grandpa Sahuri and his wife at the Puskesmas (Public Health
Center) and referred to the hospital so that their health can quickly recover.
The improvement of livable housing will also be
provided by one of the entrepreneurs in Cipunagara, Urip Supriyanto, in the
near future as a synergy of various parties to provide protection and
fulfillment of the rights of the elderly.
