Quick Response to "Silver Human" Toddler Case, Ministry of Social Affairs Provides ATENSI Support
JAKARTA (26 September 2021) - The Ministry of
Social Affairs responded quickly to information about MFA, a 1-year-old baby
whose story went viral on social media (www.megapolitan.kompas.com) on 25
September 2021 because it was painted like a silver human and asked to beg
around the Parakan gas station, Pamulang, South Tangerang.
Through the slick
collaboration of three social rehabilitation centers, namely Melati, Handayani,
Mulya Jaya, and the Ministry of Social Affairs' Quick Response Team, MFA and
her biological mother CK were successfully found and brought to Melati Jakarta
for a further comprehensive assessment of the problems and crises they are facing
by CK and his family.
Previously, the team
coordinated with the Tangerang City Social Service to obtain accurate information
regarding the MFA case that went viral on social media. The Social Service said
that the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of South Tangerang City had
arrested 2 people with the initials E and B who brought MFA begging. Meanwhile,
CK admitted that he had no idea that his son was brought by E and B
to beg.
Based on the results of
the initial assessment obtained by the Ministry of Social Affairs Team,
information was obtained that CK has also worked as a silver human for the last
2 months and lives with her fellow silver men in a boarding house for
400 thousand per month.
"I'm from Brebes,
sir. I used to live in Tanah Abang with my aunt, but I was kicked out because I
was pregnant and I am unmarried. Then I stayed at my man's place until I gave
birth,” said CK.
CK is not officially
married yet. She was still in a relationship with HS until MFA was born. During the
birth process, HS's stepmother and the owner of the rented house where HS lived
helped CK's delivery process in the bathroom. Tragically, the landlord asked for Rp. 1,300,000 for the
processing of MFA birth certificates. However, until now, MFA's birth
certificate has not been available.
"I don't know sir if
my son is painted silver. Indeed, I often leave my children to E and B when I
am looking for money. I know it’s wrong. But, no one wants to help me, sir,”
said CK defending herself.
The team then motivated CK and her child to be willing to take her to get Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) services at Melati Center Jakarta.
