WEST BANGKA (December 13, 2021) - Living in a comfortable house is not only the dream of many people but also the dream of the poor and underprivileged. With a comfortable house, it is hoped that it can help improve social and economic life for the poor and underprivileged in their environment.

The Directorate General of Poverty Handling, Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social Rehabilitation Program for Uninhabitable Houses (RS-Rutilahu) seeks to create comfortable housing conditions and harmonious social life. One of the locations where RS-Rutilahu program assistance is located is in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands, to be precise in Tanjung Village, Muntok District, West Bangka Regency. (13/12).

With the assistance of RS-Rutilahu which was given to beneficiaries in Tanjung Village, they have started to buy building materials and carry out rehabilitation work on their homes. One of the beneficiaries of this program is Mrs. Misni (50) who is a single mother with two children who works as a fisherwoman. She said that she received information as a recipient of RS-Rutilahu aid after she returned from fishing. Receiving this information, Misni was assisted by the group leader and the social office of West Bangka Regency to disburse aid, buy building materials, and jointly assisted by various parties to rehabilitate her previously damaged house into a proper one.

With this assistance, Misni hopes that in the future she and her two children can live better in a decent house. "I want the house to be occupied by me and my two children, so it's nicer and more comfortable," said Misni.

Besides Misni, there were also beneficiaries of RS-Rutilahu named Mrs. Muliana (65) and Mr. Azmi (70) who were elderly at the location. Both of them are grateful to get the assistance in the hope that they will get the housing that was previously damaged to be feasible. "Thank God we were helped earlier (RS-Rutilahu) and assisted in repairing her house," said Muliana.

Both Misni, Muliana, and Azmi as well as other beneficiaries of RS-Rutilahu expressed their gratitude to the President, Joko Widodo, and the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini for the assistance they received.
