JAKARTA (10
November 2021) - The selection of the National Commission for
Disability (KND) commissioners has entered the stage of medical tests and
interviews. This stage was attended by 21 participants consisting of 14
participants with disabilities and 7 non-disabled participants.
The National
Commission for Disabilities (KND) as an independent non-structural institution
was formed based on Law Number 8 of 2016 on Persons with Disabilities and
Presidential Regulation Number 68 of 2020 on the National Commission for
Disabilities (KND).
The Chairman
of the KND Selection Committee who is also the Secretary General of the
Ministry of Social Affairs, Harry Hikmat said that KND was formed in the
context of respecting, protecting, and fulfilling the rights of persons with
disabilities.
KND has the
task of carrying out monitoring, evaluation, and advocacy to implement Respect, Protection, and Fulfillment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The health
test, which will be held on November 8, 2021, consists of a medical check-up,
blood sampling, heart records, urine sampling, X-rays, and mental health tests.
In
collaboration with Suyoto Hospital, South Jakarta, these 21 participants
carried out health tests in an orderly manner and implemented strict health
protocols.
The Head of
the Ministry of Defense's Rehabilitation Center at Suyoto Hospital, Nana
Sarnadi, said that his party strongly supports the existence of this KND.
"This is a good opportunity, a good thing from the government. To provide
space for persons with disabilities and to monitor and evaluate the fulfillment
of the rights of persons with disabilities", he said.
Nana added
that Suyoto Hospital acts as a place to provide health check facilities for KND
participants. "We facilitate medical check-ups to psychology, to see his
mental health," he said.
On 9-10
November 2021, 21 participants continued the interview test with 5 KND
Selection Committees (Pansel) at the Best Western Premier Hotel, East Jakarta.
Each participant was interviewed directly by 5 KND Pansel. The goal is to
explore the potential that exists within each participant.
