PEKANBARU (31 August 2021) - The Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini accompanied by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, made a working visit to the "Rumbai" Center in Pekanbaru, the Minister of Social Affairs inaugurated the Pekanbaru "Abiseka" ATENSI Creation Center (SKA) and handed over Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI).

 

After the inauguration of SKA "Abiseka" Pekanbaru, the Minister of Social Affairs visited the Art Corner, Coffee, and Culinary, Grocery and Laundry Shops as well as the Prosperous Children's Park to greet the children and enjoy the culinary dishes of SKA "Abiseka".

 

Furthermore, the Minister of Social Affairs also assisted the Ministry of Social Affairs, in the form of ATENSI assistance for Children, Persons with Disabilities, Victims of Drug Abuse and Social Welfare with a total value of Rp. 332,982,800 for 318 Beneficiaries (PM).

 

The total distribution of assistance was given to 30 orphans, fatherless and motherless, 49 people were given entrepreneurship assistance such as barbershop businesses, flower boards, animal farming, porang cultivation, motor rickshaw services, agriculture, fisheries, food selling businesses, and shops.

 

Then 24 people were provided with accessibility assistance such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, adaptive crutches, walkers, and decubitus mattresses. In addition, assistance for basic needs such as food, clothing, necessities, vitamins, nutrition and school supplies were given to 168 people and 47 people were provided with medical equipment such as masks, hand sanitizers, and betadine.

 

This program is to support children's lives and reduce the burden on families in caring for orphans, fatherless and motherless.

 

This Child ATENSI program also includes support for the fulfillment of the right to a decent life, social care and/or childcare services, family support, psychological social therapy, vocational and entrepreneurship training, social assistance, and accessibility support.

 

The Minister of Social Affairs said that the ATENSI assistance was mainly given to persons with disabilities, orphans, fatherless and motherless because their parents died due to Covid-19. "This year we can only give to orphans who have been left behind due to Covid-19 victims. Next year, hopefully, we can give to all orphans," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

The beneficiary who was given ATENSI assistance was also motivated by Social Minister Risma, "Believe it, what God decides because God loves you, so God will test you. God believes that you can do it. Therefore, you must be strong, and so don’t ever give up," said Social Minister Risma.

The Minister of Social Affairs also advised them not to give up, not to be inferiority, not surrender, not to be afraid, and prove to the world that you exist and deserve to be trusted.

Throughout 2021 until this August, the Pekanbaru "Rumbai" Center has carried out 1,434 ATENSI covering the Children in Conflict with the Law (ABH) cluster, children in emergency conditions, children from remote indigenous communities, infants & toddlers, and persons with disabilities.

Of the total, 65 people are served in the Center (residential) and 1,369 children are served in the family (through emergency case responses). To accelerate the realization, currently in the process of opening a collective account of 1,537 people who will be provided with community-based ATENSI services through the Social Welfare Institution (LKS).

Elmi Yunita from West Sumatra is the mother of one of the beneficiaries of ATENSI assistance, namely 9-year-old Khaliq Nazel Syahputra, who is a person with a motor neuron disability, said that after receiving wheelchair assistance and nutrition for her child. "So that she can walk anywhere in the afternoon, so she doesn't feel deprived and can make friends with others so she can be cheerful," said Elmi.

Likewise, 13-year-old Fachri Putra Aditia from Dumai City who is one of the beneficiaries of the assistance for orphans, fatherless and motherless expressed hope for himself and thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs, "I hope I can continue to move forward, be enthusiastic and strong to face my future. Thank you very much to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Minister for giving me love." said Fahri.

This ATENSI support is a collaboration of social rehabilitation centers belonging to the Ministry of Social Affairs, namely Pekanbaru "Abiseka" Center, Medan "Insyaf" Center, Palembang "Budi Perkasa" Center, Jakarta "Melati" Center, Bengkulu "Dharma Guna" Center.

The Working Visit of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia was attended by the Deputy Governor of Riau, the Deputy Head of the Riau Police, the Head of the Riau Police, Commission VIII of the DPR RI, the Deputy Chair of the DPRD Prov. Riau, Head of Social Affairs of Riau Province and Echelon I officials within the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
