JAKARTA (10 September 2021) - The Minister of Social
Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, accompanied by the Director General of Social
Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, visited the child victims of the Trafficking in
Persons (TPPO) "RR" at the "Handayani" Center in Jakarta,
this morning. “RR” is a 14-year-old woman who comes from a poor family.
Previously, it was known
that “RR” lived in Tasikmalaya, but because of the family's economic pressure,
he tried to find a job. Then he was offered to work by a young man in a cafe in
Bogor, but when he got there, “RR” was sold by a man who was indeed a human
trafficking syndicate. “RR”'s job is to serve men in exchange for 300 thousand
rupiahs, but “RR” only receives one hundred thousand rupiahs because there is a
discount from the syndicate.
“RR” was assisted by
related parties, then referred to the “Handayani” Center to then returning his
psychological condition and develop entrepreneurial skills. Currently, the
condition of "RR" is calmer and has received some health and
psychosocial treatments.
Besides “RR”, Tri
Rismaharini also directly met two other children who were victims of terrorist
networks. One of them is a hostage victim of the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group.
While sharing life experiences, Tri Rismaharini gave motivation to them.
"Humans are in the
wrong place, but God is forgiving. I am sure that you will be successful
candidates in the future,” said Tri Rismaharini.
Continuing her
motivation, Tri Rismaharini also tells inspiring stories about great people and
their life experiences. Tri Rismaharini also said that the Ministry of Social
Affairs is ready to continue to support their future. "If you want to go
to school, I will help you prepare for your education, if you want to open a
workshop or livestock, later you can also prepare it", Tri Rismaharini
ordered.
Tri Rismaharini accompanied by Harry Hikmat and his staff also visited all the children at the "Handayani" Center to share stories and provide motivation. All the children at the "Handayani" Center welcomed the Minister of Social Affairs with great enthusiasm. At the end of his motivational presentation, Tri Rismaharini left a message to all the children to keep the spirit and not to be lazy if they want to be successful.
