BANDUNG REGENCY (27 August 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs continues to ensure the rights of children who are orphans, fatherless
and motherless because their parents died due to Covid-19 through the Social
Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program. The Ministry of Social Affairs has
provided ATENSI support to these children in several areas.
The loss of primary care
for children can impact on children's growth and development,
including not meeting basic needs, lack of daily care for children,
psychosocial problems for children with new families neglected children's
rights related to identity, education, health, experience violence, neglected
and vulnerable children are sent to foster care institutions.
Minister of Social
Affairs Tri Rismaharini supports orphans, fatherless and motherless through
the Child Social Rehabilitation Assistance Program (ATENSI). This program is to
support children's lives and reduce the burden on families in caring for orphans,
fatherless and motherless.
This Child ATENSI program
includes support for the fulfillment of the right to a decent life, social care
and/or childcare services, family support, psychological social therapy,
vocational and entrepreneurship training, social assistance, and accessibility
support.
Wahyudin, a 15-year-old
child who is in class 1 of SMK is one of the beneficiaries of the Ministry of
Social Affairs in the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program. He got
a savings of Rp. 200,000 which could be used to meet basic needs such as necessities and nutrition.
Wahyudin was included in
20 orphans, fatherless and motherless who received ATENSI assistance in the
form of Bank Mandiri savings which were handed over by Social Minister Risma during
a working visit to Soreang, Bandung Regency, West Java, Friday (27/8).
"Thanks to the
Ministry of Social Affairs, I am happy to get savings. Later I will buy school
supplies and buy vitamins," he said.
For Wahyudin, who is the
eldest of 3 children, the ATENSI Ministry of Social assistance is the first aid
from the government for him. After the death of his mother, his family's
economic condition became even more chaotic because his father only worked
alone as a porter in the market.
