Social Minister's Working Visit in Manado, Handing Over ATENSI and Motivating Children Affected by COVID-19

MANADO (1 October 2021) - Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini together with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs as well as Acting Director General of Social Rehabilitation, the Director General of Social Security, and the Director General of Poverty Handling visited Manado City to compare the data on PKH, BST, and Social Assistance as well as the Submission of Aid for Attention, PKH Graduation, Entrepreneurship and ATENSI for Orphans/Fatherless/Motherless.

 

The activity carried out at the Social Rehabilitation Center "Tumou Tou" Manado, began with data matching activities in an open hall together with all Heads of Service from North Sulawesi, Bank Mandiri, Bank BRI, BPKP North Sulawesi, Attorney General's Office, and PKH HR.

 

The data matching activity contains the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs to provide cash assistance because many Beneficiary Families (KPM) have their accounts blocked so they have never made a transaction for more than three months.

 

The Minister of Social Affairs directed that the Head of the Social Service and Bank partners play an active role and participate directly in the distribution of social assistance funds, PKH and BST so that there are no more reasons for distribution disruption for the KPM.

 

The Minister of Social Affairs instructed Bank Mandiri's partners to unblock and resolve aid distribution problems for the past two weeks so that the assistance that had been deposited could be distributed immediately.

 

The next agenda, the Minister of Social Affairs handed over assistance in the form of basic needs, accessibility tools, and entrepreneurship symbolically to the Beneficiaries. The total ATENSI assistance provided by Social Rehabilitation Center under the Ministry of Social Affairs amounted to Rp. 635,935,500.

 

This assistance was distributed to Bolaang Mongondow Regency worth Rp.44,800,000, Minahasa Regency Rp.110,565,500, South Minahasa Regency Rp.44,500,000, North Minahasa Regency Rp.13.900.000, Kotamobagu City Rp.24,000,000, Bitung City IDR 14,000,000, Tomohon City IDR 17,100,000, and Manado City IDR 381,070,000.

 

Next, the Minister of Social Affairs went to the Center which was attended by 50 Orphans. The Minister of Social Affairs gave motivation through the screening of a video entitled “Gading”, one of the persons with disabilities who received assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of a three-wheeled motorbike.

“There is no such thing as a smart or stupid child, there is a diligent or lazy child. As long as you want to try, you can reach your dreams and goals like Gading for example. My dear children, the loss of your parents should not be an obstacle for you to continue to go to school, to live, and pursue your goals and dreams. You can do it." Social Minister Risma said.

The social rehabilitation centers that collaborated in the delivery of aid were the "Soeharso" Surakarta, "Tumou Tou" Manado, "Toddopuli" Makassar, "Wirajaya" Makassar, "Gau Mabaji" Gowa, "Nipotowe" Palu, "Wasana Bahagia" Ternate, “Pangurangi” Takalar, “Meohai” and “Minaula” Kendari.

The presence of the Ministry of Social Affairs is not just a slogan, but shows the existence of the Ministry of Social Affairs amid the community and provides the best service for improving social welfare in Indonesia.
