JAKARTA (8 February 2021) - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs ensures transparency in program budget management. It requires escort and supervision by cooperating with the Attorney General's Office, Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), Indonesian National Police (Polri), and Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"The Ministry of Social Affairs has many programs with large budgets, such as Sembako Card and Non Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) with different targets, namely the lowest 10 million Family Hope Program (PKH) beneficiary families (KPM) clusters, 18.5 million KPM, 10 million KPM intersected with BPNT," said Inspector General of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, Dadang Iskandar in a Coordination Meeting with the Community Development Corps  National Police Headquarters (Kakorbinmas) regarding Escort and Supervision of the 2021 Ministry of Social Affairs Program in Jakarta, Monday (8/2/2021).

Dadang said that BPNT was channeled through the Association of State Banks (HIMBARA). PKH and BPNT are regular programs from the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the launching of the distribution of the referred cash assistance.

"There are still obstacles on the distribution of social aid (Bansos) to the community. We ensure that there will be no more miss targeting practices, no cutting and no packages delivery," he said.

The miss targeting is caused by the invalid data of the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

"During the verification and validation process, problematic data must be anticipated so that the separated data becomes integrated," he said.

The collaboration with the police is the Ministry of Social Affairs’ effort to escort and supervise the implementation of the Social Safety Net (JPS) and the distribution of social to be more accountable and transparent.

"That is why we cooperate and request the support of the National Police so that the JPS program and the distribution of social assistance can be more accountable and transparent," said Dadang.

Inspector General Suwondo from the Corps for Community Development and Security Maintenance Agency  (Korbinmas Baharkam) of the National Police stated that the police were ready to assist the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, especially in escorting and supervising the distribution of social assistance.

"We from Binmas and the Directorate of Investigation at the National Police are 100 percent ready to help oversee the distribution of social assistance carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs," said Suwondo.
