PATI (14 August 2021) - The declaration of Kampung Tangguh Bersinar (free-from-Drug village), as an implementation of the community's role in preventing drug trafficking and abuse was carried out at the Pati Regency Hall, which was marked by the beating of a gong by the Central Java Police Chief.

Synergy and cooperation in the prevention and eradication of drug abuse and illicit trafficking (P4GN) is reflected in the program to launch Kampung Tangguh Bersinar in Addarjo Village, Pati District, Pati Regency. The event, which was initiated by the Social Welfare Institution (LKS) assisted by Social Rehabilitation Center "Satria" Baturraden, namely IPWL Pesantren Al Ma'laa in Pati was packaged in the concept of the Kampung Tangguh Bersinar activity.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Social Affairs was represented by the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation of Drug Abuse Victims and the Head of the "Satria" Baturraden Center was present as one of the pillars participating in the prevention and abuse of drugs.

The Regent of Pati, Haryanto said, as the Regional Head, he welcomed and was grateful that the declaration was carried out in Pati Regency. The Regent also said, if these drugs have become a real threat to life, so it takes seriousness and cooperation from all parties to eradicate them.

"The current threat is not only COVID-19, but drugs are also a threat that is not visible but real so that young people often abuse it, which then has a wide impact," said Haryanto. Meanwhile, Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said Currently, the eradication of drugs must involve all elements and stakeholders, both at the top to bottom or village levels.

Without the cooperation of the Indonesian Army and Police and the community, the eradication of drugs will not be able to run optimally. The purpose of the declaration of Kampung Tangguh Bersinar is every strong village has the power of prevention, deterrence, and courage to take action against drugs.

"Of course the police cannot work alone. It is necessary to cooperate with stakeholders, for example, the Pati Regent who has facilitated activities with his youth group. Because essentially this Kampung is from the community, by the community, and for the community," he said.

Pati Police Chief AKBP Christian Tobing revealed specifically in the Pati Regency area until July 2021 the Pati Police Narcotics Unit had revealed 38 cases with 65 suspects, which has exceeded the target of revealing cases in 2021, namely 23 in this case. It is a concern for all of us that in this COVID-19 pandemic situation, it does not actually reduce the illicit trafficking of drugs, but increases every month.

This is a concern for all of us to always work together and synergize in P4GN's efforts that involve village elements and other apparatus.

Next Wisnu Suharto as the Coordinator of the Sub-Directorate for Institutional and Human Resources of the Directorate of Rehabilitation of Drug Abuse Victims of the Ministry of Social Affairs also appreciates this activity because from the smallest village and family efforts to prevent and abuse drugs can be minimized.

Following the mandate of the Republic of Indonesia Law no. 35 of 2009 on narcotics, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation of Drug Abuse Victims has made various efforts including providing rehabilitation facilities for victims of drug abuse. One of the UPTs that carry out efforts to rehabilitate Drug Abuse Victims is in the Baturaden area, Central Java, and in collaboration with reporting institutions that are obligated to report spread across Central Java, East Java, D.I Yogyakarta.
