SUBANG (March 20, 2021) - Director General of Poverty Handling (PFM), Asep Sasa Purnama attended a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the Chair of the Ujung Genteng Fishermen's Cooperative and Representatives of the Subang Regency Fisheries Service. The activity, which was held at the Fish Seed Center (BBI) Tanjung Wangi, Subang, was carried out to seek breakthroughs in handling the poor in coastal areas (20/03).

"This gathering was carried out to find a breakthrough in empowering the poor on the coast, not only marketing the product, but also about catching fish," said the Director General of PFM.

The Director General of PFM said that this FGD was also carried out to explore information related to marine and fishery potential that could be harmonized with the handling of the poor.

"Our marine potential is extraordinary, but there are still many people living on the coast whose lives are below standard, so this is our homework," said the Director General of PFM.

According to the Director General of PFM, the Enjoyment Program (Movement to Promote Fish Eating) from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is very good, because it can be an effort to prevent stunting (malnutrition).

"I think the KKP's Gemarikan program is good, especially if it can reach low-income people, it's extraordinary, because people who are threatened with stunting are usually low-income people," explained the Director General of PFM.

In the FGD, present were the Head of the Ujung Genteng Fishermen's Cooperative, Dadi, the Secretary of the Fisheries and Marine Office of Subang Regency, Dinar Wardinal, the Representative of the PFM Head of the Subang Regency Social Office, Syaeful, the Social Advisor for Fisherman Entrepreneurs of Pelabuhan Ratu, M. Sugeng Rustam, and the FGD invitees.
