JAYAPURA (October 27, 2020) - The Psychosocial Support Service (LDP) team of Jayapura Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS) visited one of the Fire Victims Command Posts Dock IX located at the Papua Provincial Social Office on October 27, 2020.

This activity is intended to provide Psychosocial Support Services to children, namely recreationally and playing with child survivors. This activity was carried out so that the children could forget for a moment the fire incident that had befallen them.

In addition, the LDP Team also conducted interviews with officers and residents at the Disaster Post.

According to Herlina, an officer from the Jayapura City Social Office, the fires that occurred in Tanjung Ria, North Jayapura included 3 RTs, 2 RWs with a total victim of 925 families, 1419 people (Update Data as of October 24, 2020). There are 4 Command Posts built, namely the Main Command Post at the Education Office, the Public Kitchen Command Post at the Provincial Social Service, the Mosque Command Post and the Bethany Church Command Post. Currently, the aid in the form of food and clothing is sufficient.

Based on information from the Health Officer, at the main Command Post and the Social Service Post, there is a health check-up service. The condition of evacuees is generally healthy. There are only a few complaints such as urticaria and itching. So far no one has complained of stress or depression.

Mr. Fahri, a survivor at the Social Office Post said that he is currently preparing a temporary residence (kos) because he already knows that the Post operates until Thursday. Residents generally feel calm, because there is a lot of support and assistance to fulfill basic needs. The service from the officers is also good as the evacuees are able to eat 3 times a day with various side dishes.
