JAMBI (23 March 2022) - Following up on the visit of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia on 17 March 2022 to the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) at the Remote Indigenous Community Center in Jelutih Village, Batin XXIV District, Batanghari Regency, the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini deputed 15 field team to the Jelutih Village. The team was employees of the Melati Center in Jakarta, the Prof. Dr. Soeharso Integrated Center in Surakarta, the Dharma Guna Center in Bengkulu, the Budi Perkasa Center in Palembang and the Alyatama Center in Jambi.

 

This activity was carried out for four days from 19-22 March 2022 to distribute ATENSI, disaster or social assistance in the form of 230 family tents, 225 mattresses, 95 roll tents, 132 health and hygiene kits, 8 electronic packages and basic food packages as well as Psychosocial Support Services.

 

The team started moving towards the location on 19 March 2022, as the recommendation of five heads of Centers in Sumatra, Central Java and Jakarta to the Remote Indigenous Community Center in Jelutih Village, Batin XXIV District. Upon arrival at the location, the team was welcomed by WARSI (Warung Informasi Konservasi) administrators and the Suku Anak Dalam community.

 

For four days in a row, the team delivered lessons about setting up a tent, taking care of the environment, bathing with soap, brushing teeth, and cutting nails. The community also learns to count, read, color, eat green bean porridge, and drink milk.

 

"We are very grateful for the assistance of the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs who provided facilities for the Suku Anak Dalam. Hopefully, the Ministry of Social Affairs will be more successful," said Yohana, one of the WARSI administrators.

 

Activities ran smoothly according to predetermined targets. Moreover, the team was able to come back home in good health.
