BEKASI (13 August 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs provided a vaccination location for Bekasi residents, especially those belonging to Hamlet 21 of Margahayu Village, East Bekasi.

The Covid-19 vaccination was carried out at the Aneka Bhakti Building (GAB) II in East Bekasi. It involved health workers from the Karang Kitri Health Center in Margahayu Village and 2 nurses from "Tan Miyat" Center.

"We are very grateful that the Ministry of Social Affairs permitted us to use the building for vaccination. The participants are those who have carried out the first stage of the vaccine on July 15 and 16, 2021, located at the Grand Dhika Bekasi apartment. They came with copies of their ID cards, family cards and the first dose of vaccine certificate," said Siti Sopiah as the headman of Margahayu.

Health workers from Karang Kitri Health Center in Margahayu and the nurses from "Tan Miyat" conducted some screening tests for participants before vaccination. They obeyed health protocols, such as wearing masks, washing hands, taking temperature measurements during registration, and sitting apart in the waiting area. In addition, the capacity of the building was limited to a number of people. The committees consisting of Margahayu residents and employees of the Ministry of Social Affairs were working together to ensure the implementation of the health protocols.

"We strongly support the government's efforts to provide vaccinations for all Indonesian citizens, especially Margahayu residents. It is an effort to deal with the Covid-19 outbreak. However, we must remain vigilant and carry out health protocols in daily activities even though we have had the second dose of vaccine," said Yulianto, the Head of Neighbourhood 02/21 Margahayu who is also a civil servant at Tan Miyat Center in Bekasi.

"The target of this vaccination is 2,188 people, carried out in 2 (two) locations, namely 1,200 people at the Aneka Bhakti II Building, and the other location is in the Public Works and Public Housing building in hamlet 04 with a target of 988 people. The process of vaccination has been well maintained so far. We hope that 67,000 Margahayu residents can all be vaccinated and reach herd immunity to prevent the transmission of Covid-19," said Siti Sopiah.
