PURWODADI (August 19, 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center "Margo Laras" Pati
responded to the case of handling 2 (two) brothers with mental disorders, after
viral news on social media some time ago.
The Case Response Team of
"Margo Laras" Center coordinated with the Head of Social Welfare and
Trafficking Victims of the Grobogan District Social Service, District Social
Welfare Workers (TKSK) and Social Welfare Workers for Persons with
Disabilities.
Furthermore, Social
Workers and Nurses conduct rapid assessments to identify problems and analyze
needs.
"From the results of
the assessment, two brothers and sisters, Beneficiaries (PM) named Meiliyana
(18 years old) and Reni Handayani (16 years old) have been depressed for a long
time due to being bullied by their friends during their school days so that
they dropped out of school. Meiliya did not finish junior high school and Reni
did not finish elementary school," said Sutini as Social Worker at the
"Margo Laras" Center.
In their daily life, PMs
lock themselves up in their rooms and urinate in bed. Their mothers are less
cooperative and don't pay attention to them, when in fact PMs are cooperative
and can still be directed such as putting their own clothes on and arranging
rooms, but lack of communication.
"They have Regional
Health Insurance (Jamkesda) and have received government assistance
before," concluded Sutini.
"From the mental
health aspect, PM belongs to the category of mild depression, they have had
mental health checks at the Dr. R Soedjati Purwodadi Hospital, so education is
needed to take medication regularly. The family has been given motivation for
supervision and assistance in taking medication," said "Margo
Laras" Center Meygiarti Wananda.
"The two brothers
have been assisted during routine check-ups or referred to the nearest hospital
by us," said Aris as staff of the Grobogan Regency Social Service.
At the end of the
activity, the Case Response Team handed over Social Rehabilitation Assistance
(ATENSI) service in the form of ADL needs, sleeping equipment (beds and
pillows), basic materials, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
