JAKARTA
(10 September 2021) - Distribution of
community-based Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) support by the Bekasi
"Budhi Dharma" Center of the Ministry of Social Affairs worth a total
of Rp. 25,352.110, - symbolically distributed by the Minister of Social
Affairs, Tri Rismaharini at the inauguration of the Mulya Jaya ATENSI Creation
Center (SKA) as well as handing over ATENSI support to beneficiaries in DKI
Jakarta (9/10/2021).
The total community-based ATENSI support
assistance was provided to 35 elderly who were assisted by the ERBE Social
Welfare Institution (LKS) in the form of nutrition for the elderly, the need for
room facilities, and supporting equipment for wheelchair and tricycle
accessibility after a needs assessment was carried out and intervention was
identified that needs to be done.
LKS ERBE is a community that cares about
marginal groups in the DKI Jakarta area, one of which is protecting the rights of the elderly.
Yomanih (78 years) who received a wheelchair
and nutrition was very happy to meet the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri
Rismaharini, accompanied by the Chairperson of Commission VIII of the
Indonesian House of Representatives, Yandri Susanto. To social workers, Yomanih
said that for the past 5 months, her legs had not functioned normally due to a
fall while working as a janitor at the Pondok Kelapa Cemetery. Often when she
is active her legs feel weak and fall, until finally, she can no longer work.
Yomanih lives in the neighborhood around the Pondok Kelapa graveyard, depending
on the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) assisted by her son-in-law who works as
a motorcycle taxi driver," said Yomanih.
The head of the Bekasi "Budhi
Dharma" Center, Pujiyanto, left a message to Yomanih’s son to keep his
mother with gratitude and patience. “Please take good care of your mother and
father at home, grateful that your parents are still healthy until now. Love
now must be given to children just like Mother took care of you since
childhood. Invite Mother to sunbathe and help her activities well and
patiently," said Pujiyanto.
Surahmi (62 years old) and other elderly at
Pondok Kopi received nutritional assistance, including milk, biscuits, honey,
shredded beef, and sardines according to the results of the needs assessment.
When the team visited Suratmi's (62 years old) house in Pondok Kopi, the recipient of ATENSI nutrition assistance and room facilities was found to live in a 2 x 3-meter square bunkhouse. Suratmi collects used bottles and cardboard which is valued at IDR 20,000 per kilogram, with an average income of IDR 200,000 per week. "Thank you for coming to my house, I used to sleep on the carpet with my grandchildren. I am very happy to get mattresses, sheets, blankets, bolsters, and healthy food", said Suratmi.
