CENTRAL LAMPUNG (August 19, 2021) — The Ministry of Social
Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center "Dharma Guna" Bengkulu
responded to an emergency case against Sarwo Temon whose video had gone viral
and circulated because he lived in a wooden hut and was built on land owned by
someone else.
Dharma Guna Center sent a
case response team consisting of Social Workers and Social Counselors. The team
went directly to the location where Sarwo Temon lived in Rumbia District,
Central Lampung.
Furthermore, the case
response team attended a joint meeting with the Head of Social Rehabilitation
and Social Empowerment of the Central Lampung Social Service, the Head of
Rumbia Subdistrict and his staff, Village Head Reno Basuki, TKSK, PKH
Facilitators and the Sarwo Temon Family.
From the results of the
meeting, it was known that Temon, as he is known, had received assistance from
the PKH, BPNT, BPJS, Community Self-Help Home Improvement, KIP, and free
medical expenses while his wife was undergoing cancer treatment.
Temon already has a
permanent home belonging to his late wife. After his wife died, Temon felt
uncomfortable living with the deceased's family and decided to live elsewhere
with inadequate conditions.
The case response team
mediates for Temon and his family regarding the placement of his late wife's
house. After success, the team then proceeded to carry out assessments and
crisis interventions to improve economic and social resilience as well as
housing suitability.
