CENTRAL LAMPUNG (August 19, 2021) — The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center "Dharma Guna" Bengkulu responded to an emergency case against Sarwo Temon whose video had gone viral and circulated because he lived in a wooden hut and was built on land owned by someone else.

Dharma Guna Center sent a case response team consisting of Social Workers and Social Counselors. The team went directly to the location where Sarwo Temon lived in Rumbia District, Central Lampung.

Furthermore, the case response team attended a joint meeting with the Head of Social Rehabilitation and Social Empowerment of the Central Lampung Social Service, the Head of Rumbia Subdistrict and his staff, Village Head Reno Basuki, TKSK, PKH Facilitators and the Sarwo Temon Family.

From the results of the meeting, it was known that Temon, as he is known, had received assistance from the PKH, BPNT, BPJS, Community Self-Help Home Improvement, KIP, and free medical expenses while his wife was undergoing cancer treatment.

Temon already has a permanent home belonging to his late wife. After his wife died, Temon felt uncomfortable living with the deceased's family and decided to live elsewhere with inadequate conditions.

The case response team mediates for Temon and his family regarding the placement of his late wife's house. After success, the team then proceeded to carry out assessments and crisis interventions to improve economic and social resilience as well as housing suitability.

Temon was given business assistance in the form of goats and chickens, fulfilling nutritional and personal hygiene needs, school supplies for his children, and getting assistance in making proper and clean toilets.

"Dharma Guna" Center Case Response Team made recommendations to the Social Service, village officials, and the community to continue to assist Temon in running his business and to play an active role as a member of the community.

The team also hopes that Temon can run his business as well as possible, while maintaining good relations with his family, community and local officials.

“I am very grateful to the Minister of Social Affairs and "Dharma Guna" Center for paying attention to me and providing assistance to me," said Temon.
