SURAKARTA (January 29, 2021) - The Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos), Tri Rismaharini together with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendi made a working visit to Surakarta City to directly inspect and ensure the Family Beneficiaries (KPM) Cash Social Assistance (BST) receives its rights.

The Minister of Social Affairs and the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture reviewed the distribution of BST at the Jebres sub-district office, Jebres District, Surakarta City. In this distribution, there are 700 KPM in Jebres Village. This BST distribution is given to KPM affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by implementing strict health protocols, namely by maintaining distance and wearing masks.

On this occasion, cash social assistance was also symbolically handed over to 3 KPM BST which was followed by witnessing the BST distribution transaction by PT Pos Indonesia.

For information, the number of KPM BST in Surakarta is 60,511 KPM in 5 sub-districts with a total assistance of IDR 18,153,300,000 which is given in stages from January to April with a nominal value of IDR 300,000 per KPM per month.

Meanwhile, responding to data that was not synchronized which resulted in delays in the distribution of social assistance to the point of default, the Minister of Social Affairs stated that the Ministry had written to 40 regions throughout Indonesia to match KPM data with population data, especially with the addition of 560,000 KPM.

“Yesterday there were some findings, and then we sorted them out. The data do not match the population, making it vulnerable. Therefore, we ask the region to fix it," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

The Minister of Social Affairs explained that yesterday in January and the second week, there have been improvements. "We are afraid if it doesn't match. We didn't know whether the person exists or not. The data was added from all over Indonesia. However, there are some areas they haven't matched, approximately 40 regions, that we have written to match the population data. The additional value of the data is around 560,000, throughout Indonesia, but the 40 regions haven't matched it yet," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
