Yogyakarta Center for Social Welfare Education and Training Organizes Guidance for the Elderly
YOGYAKARTA (October 3rd, 2019) - BBPPKS Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Social Service of Temanggung Regency held a Social Guidance for the Elderly. The day-long activity was held on Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, at Gamplong Alam Studio, Sumber Rahayu Village, Moyudan Sub-District, Sleman.
Social Guidance with the theme "Happy Elderly, Useful and Prosperous" was attended by 30 elderly people from five districts in Temanggung. According to the Head of Temanggung Social Rehabilitation Social Service, Ponco Marbagyo, this activity is a breakthrough in the development of the elderly in Temanggung.
"All this time the activity has only been in the form of compensation or assistance in the form of money or goods. The activity that was packaged in the form of outbound and in a pleasant atmosphere was able to make the elderly enjoy the happiness and joy," said Ponco.
The social guidance facilitators are reliable outbound facilitators from BBPPKS Yogyakarta. "The concept of social guidance for elderly people in outdoor gives more opportunities for the elderly to express their feelings and happiness in gathering and doing activities with other elderly," he added.
The activity was filled with singing, playing, dancing and ended with a tour around the village of Gamplong while visiting with the elderly at the location of the activity which is also a folk craft tourism village.
According to Ponco, this elderly social guidance was considered successful and the results exceeded expectations. Therefore, in the following year it will be programmed again with more adequate budgeting support.
