7 Years Separated, Wandi Meets His Family in Cibinong
CIBINONG (May 18, 2022) - Abdul Malik did not expect
to meet his younger brother Nur Alim alias Wandi after being separated for 7
years. The reunification effort cannot be separated from the role of the
Ministry of Social Affairs through the Inten Suweno Integrated Center
Wandi, a mentally disabled person, left his family in Bungo Demak
Village and traveled to Surabaya, East Java.
In Surabaya, Wandi received services at Liposos Keputih then in February
2022 was referred to the Suweno Cibinong Bogor Integrated Center.
At the Inten Suweno Integrated Center, Wandi receives physical, psychosocial, and mental-spiritual therapy. Wandi's progress is
evaluated daily by social workers.
Starting from the WhatsApp status of the hostel’s owner, someone recognized
Wandi. The results of the assessment show that Wandi still has a family. The
Assessment Team was finally able to establish communication with Wandi's
family.
"I am very grateful to have met my brother. Thank you to the Inten
Suweno Integrated Center for bringing me together with my brother. Also for
taking care of him while in Cibinong," said Abdul Malik.
After meeting her brother in Cibinong, Wandi will return to her village in Demak to meet his parents.
