Depok (November 9, 2024) - One day before National Heroes' Day, the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) again conducted a visit to the families of heroes. This visit is a form of concern and appreciation for the heroes' struggle in achieving the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

This visit took place at the residence of the only daughter of national hero Ismail Marzuki, Rachmi Aziah (74) in Depok, West Java on Saturday (11/9).

At no longer young age, Rachmi is still actively selling drinks and ice cream in front of her house.

Together with the advisor of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of MoSA, Fatma Saifullah Yusuf, this visit also provided assistance in the form of wheelchairs, support for home-based stall businesses, basic food packages, nutrition, and compassionate gifts. "Hopefully our assistance will be useful," said Fatma.

She also added that through this visit activity, MoSA hopes to help more people in need.

"Because if it's just a visit from the Minister, the time will run out, for that reason, DWP also went down to the community," she added.

In addition to being a proclaimer of independence, Ismail Marzuki was also an artist whose works have spread throughout the country. A total of 250 works by Ismail Marzuki have been inventoried. All his songs are filled with values of struggle that can foster a sense of love for the country.

"There are Gugur Bunga, Nyiur Melambai, Halo-Halo Bandung, those are some of the songs created by Ismail Marzuki," said Fatma.

Like entering a time machine, in Rachmi's house there are awards and souvenir photos from Ismail Marzuki. All of Ismail Marzuki's legacy, which is neatly arranged, amazed Fatma and other DWP members. "There is a photo with Mr. Jokowi, there are also awards and works from Ismail Marzuki," said Fatma during a dialogue with Rachmi and other DWP members.

Through his works, Ismail Marzuki was able to advance the Republic of Indonesia until it was free from the shackles of the colonizers.  From his work too, in 1961 Ismail Marzuki received the Wijayakusumah charter from President Soekarno on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. His name is remains immortal among artist until his name is immortalized in an educational park and entertainment area in the city of Jakarta, namely Taman Ismail Marzuki.

Rachmi expressed her gratitude for the assistance given to her. "Alhamdulillah, thank you, hopefully, we can meet again. Pray that you will always be healthy," said Rachmi.

Based on Government Regulation No. 78 of 2018 on the Requirements and Procedures and Amount of Continuous Allowances for Fighters, Independence Pioneers, and Families of National Heroes, MoSA distributed continuous allowances in 2024 to the accounts of National Heroes' families on January 31, 2024 based on Decree Number 02/SK/5.3/PB.06.01/01/2024 dated January 19, 2024 with an amount of IDR 50,000,000 per year for each family.

The recipients are spread across several regions, including DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, and other regions in Indonesia with a total of 88 families. In addition to the honorary allowance, MoSA also responded to the need for assistive devices proposed by the Indonesian National Heroes Family Association (IKPNI).
