TABANAN (JUNE 6, 2022) - Born without an anus, Rafael Tanti Agung (11 months) from Bere Village, Bangka Medan Village, North Rahong District, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) finally received the donations/donors collected by the Ministry of Social Affairs in collaboration with Kitabisa.com worth IDR 55,325,071.

The handover of assistance was symbolically given to Rafael's parents, Melkior Tanti through Mahatmiya Bali Center, witnessed by Gusti Ayu Laksmi from Kitabisa.com. Each month the assistance will be transferred for IDR 3,000,000 to the beneficiary's account which is used for medical support costs and needs during treatment.

Rafael Agung Tanti is the 6th child of 6 children of spouses Melkior Tanti (48) and Wilhelmina Nial (36). Rafael was born without an anus. From February 9, 2022, until now, Rafael and his parents have been at Mahatmiya Center Bali, a Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) belonging to MoSA, and undergoing treatment at Sanglah Hospital Denpasar accompanied by social workers and nurses.

The surgery to create an anus at Sanglah Hospital was carried out on April 18, 2022. Currently, Rafael is undergoing regular observation and control at the Pediatric Surgery Polyclinic to monitor surgical wounds and their function properly. Observations and exercises will be carried out for approximately 6 months.

Based on information from the hospital, if in approximately 6 months the anus is ready for use, the next operation will be to reconnect the intestine which is used as disposal in the stomach. So that feces will be removed through the anus.

When handing over the assistance, Sri Wibowo hoped that the costs would ease the burden on his parents. "With this assistance, hopefully, it can lighten the burden of Mr. Melkior and Mrs. Nial and be used for needs during treatment", said Wibowo.

He also emphasized that the Mahatmiya Bali Center would continue to assist until Rafael recovered. "We will also always accompany Rafael during his treatment in the hospital, accommodation, and companions will always be ready when needed," he concluded.
