ATENSI from MoSA to One Family Lives in a Hut
Toli-Toli (July 25, 2022) - MoSA through Nipotowe Center Palu responded
to the case of a family living in a hut with 10 children after being evicted by
residents in Toli-Toli Regency. At first, Saprudin's family lived in Timbolo
Village, but because his son was accused of stealing, Saprudin and his family
were evicted until their house was damaged by residents. Now Saprudin and his
family live in a hut with an area of four square meters on land owned by his
father-in-law.
As directed by the Minister of Social Affairs, Nipotowe
Center Rapid Response Team departed from Palu at two in the morning for
Toli-Toli. The trip to Toli-Toli takes about 12 hours and it takes about 4
hours to get to the location. During a total of 16 hours of travel, the Center team
was quite intense in coordinating with assistants, village heads, and community
leaders to ensure the condition of Saprudin's family.
Arriving at the location, the Center team
immediately visited Saprudin's residence in the middle of the garden. Using the
sago palm midrib, not all of Saprudin's children wore clothes. Saprudin
admitted that they only had a few pairs of clothes.
"We only have a few clothes, so whoever
gets up first and takes a shower, he's the one wearing the clothes," said
Saprudin when the Center team conducted an assessment.
The Center team tried to mediate with Saprudin's
family, Timbolo village officials, community leaders, bhabinkamtibmas (community police officers) to
resolve Saprudin's problems. In addition, the Center team also advocated for
the Toli-Toli District Social Office, Timbolo Village, and Binontoan Village.
As a result, the Binontoan Village is committed to providing land for the
location of their homes and arranging their SKPT (Land Registration Certificate).
In addition, the Head of the Binontoan Village has also prepared a Posyandu
(Integrated Health Service Post) as a temporary residence for the Saprudin
family.
"I will facilitate the Saprudin family for
the location to build a house, later I will also arrange the SKPT. For the time
being, they can live in the Village Posyandu building," said Taufik
Hidayat, Head of Binontoan Village.
Ismadi, the Head of Timbolo Village is also
committed to mobilizing residents to help build houses and facilitate home
lighting.
