WEST LOMBOK (May
11, 2020) - The “Paramita”
Social Rehabilitation Center for Children in Need of Special Protection
(BRSAMPK) in Mataram which is the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the
Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs
has distributed Child Social Rehabilitation Assistance Funds to 800 children
from 30 Child Social Welfare Institution (LKSA) in three Provinces which are
the working areas of the center, including West Nusa Tenggara, Bali, and West
Sulawesi.
The distribution of the
social rehabilitation assistance funds for children is one of the actions to
accelerate assistance in overcoming the COVID-19 outbreak which targets
children as assistance recipients. The assistance recipients have been
transferred to the children’s accounts through one of the state banks since
April 29th, 2020. The process of withdrawing the funds has been carried out
since May 4th, 2020. The Paramita Children’s Center continues to monitor the
use of assistance funds through a group messenger app so that the assistance
provided can be used properly.
In accordance with the
technical guidelines for Child Social Rehabilitation Assistance from the
Directorate of Child Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs,
the target of this assistance is children aged 0 to 18 from
poor/underprivileged families and registered in the Integrated Social Welfare
Data (DTKS) and are LKSA-assisted children who are either from orphanages or
family-based (non-orphanages).
The purpose of providing
children's social rehabilitation assistance includes: supporting the
fulfillment of a decent life for children, increasing social capability and
social responsibility for children through child care, increasing social
capability and family social responsibility through family support, and
implementing therapy for children and/or families.
As for the use of
assistance funds provided to children who receive assistance at LKSA, in
accordance with the purpose of social rehabilitation assistance are as follows:
Assistance for children is 500,000 rupiahs which include the purchase of immune
supplements and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, hand
sanitizers, and gloves. Meanwhile, the remaining 500,000 rupiahs are used for
social care, family support, and therapy, so that the total assistance for each
child is 1,000,000 rupiahs.

Children's Center, I Ketut Supena, said, "Ladies and gentlemen, for the
purpose of utilizing the funds, please always pay attention to health
protocols. Don't forget to always keep your distance when holding a Meeting for
the Reinforcement of the Capabilities of Children and Families. The use of PPE
must also be prioritized in carrying out various activities related to the use
of this assistance fund,"
During the monitoring process, the Center officers will always ask about the extent to which assistance funds have been used, and what obstacles were encountered during the process of utilizing assistance funds. If there are things that are considered to be an obstacle when implementing the use of assistance funds, the LKSA officers are asked not to hesitate to ask the Center officers. It is hoped that this 2020 Children's Social Rehabilitation Assistance can help anticipate the spread of COVID-19, especially for children who are also vulnerable to being exposed to the Corona Virus.
