Bappenas Promotes the Preparation of RAD PD at the "Mahatmiya" Disability Center
TABANAN (21 April 2021) – Bali “Mahatmiya” Disability
Center received a visit from the Ministry of National Development Planning /
National Development Planning Agency (PPN / Bappenas) to disseminate the Draft
Regional Action Plan for Persons with Disabilities (RAD-PD) especially for
persons with visual sensory disabilities.
Located at Artne Coffee,
the Team of the Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas, totaling
6 people, was received directly by the Head of the "Mahatmiya" Center for
Disabilities, Sutiono and continued with the presentation of the "Mahatmiya"
Center for Disability Profile and the Social Rehabilitation Assistance Service
Program (ATENSI), and Focus Group Discussion. Furthermore, a question and
answer session was held between the Team of the Ministry of National Development
Planning / Bappenas and the Head of the "Mahatmiya" Center for Disabilities.

Expert Planner as well as Technical Coordinator for the Preparation of the RAD
PD from Bappenas explained that the Dissemination and Assessment of Service
Programs for Persons with Disabilities is to follow up on the mandate of
Government Regulation Number 70 of 2019 on Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation
of Respect, Protection, and Fulfilling the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
to prepare Regional Action Plans for Persons with Disabilities (RAD PD). This
requires mapping of programs and services from local governments and related
institutions to formulate inclusive and integrated planning for
Persons with Disabilities.
In this regard, the
Directorate of Poverty Alleviation and Community Empowerment of the Ministry of
National Development Planning / Bappenas conducted a Field Visit and Outreach
related to the Draft RAD PD. "We will make the presentation and the
results of our discussion today as material in the preparation of
planning," said the woman who is familiarly called Nisa.
The Head of the "Mahatmiya" Center
for Disabilitieshighly appreciated the activity of preparing this
Regional Action Plan for Persons with Disabilities. "Hopefully what we
convey can later become materials for development planning by Bapennas,
especially rehabilitation services for disabilities," said Sutiono.
After that, the team was invited to visit the activities that were being carried out and they had the opportunity to try spa therapy. The Vocational Spa program is a new program implemented by the "Mahatmiya" Disability Center besides massage and barista.
