Braille Corner BLBI "Abiyoso" Present at the University Library
MAKASSAR (5 November 2019) - The Indonesian Braille Literacy Center (BLBI) "Abiyoso" in Cimahi and the Hasanuddin University Library in Makassar work together to create braille literacy services for Persons with Visual Sensory Disabilities (PDSN) in the format of "Braille Corner."
The "Braille Corner" service is a program of BLBI "Abiyoso" in collaboration with the Library in providing the fulfillment of braille literacy service needs for PDSNs through access and facilities in the Public Library.
This program is intended as an effort to equalize and improve services to PDSN, as well as to implement the mandate of Law no. 8 of 2016 article 5 concerning the rights of persons with disabilities who must obtain accessibility, public services, and obtain information in various matters including information services for reading materials, facilities and infrastructure are needed that can support the aforementioned efforts.
BLBI "Abiyoso" which has the task of managing literacy in accordance with the Minister of Social Affairs RI No. 18 of 2018, one type of activity carried out is the formation of "Braille Corners" in Libraries in all Provinces, Cities / Regencies in Indonesia.
