TULANG BAWANG (June 12, 2020) - The distribution of social assistance in the form of basic food packages was again carried out by the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social Rehabilitation Center for the Elderly (BRSLU) "Budhi Dharma". Located in Banjar Agung District, Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung Province, 100 food packages were distributed to the elderly affected by COVID-19 and the tornado.
The distribution of basic food assistance was delivered through Kharisma Bunda Social Welfare Institution (LKS), as one of the Elderly LKS located in Banjar Agung District, Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung Province.
The symbolization of the distribution of social assistance was carried out at the LKS LU Kharisma Bunda Office, Jl. Pioneer Gang Abu Nawas RT. 03 RW. 02 Tri Tunggal Jaya Village, Banjar Agung District, Tulang Bawang Regency. The trip to the location is done by using a ferry with a travel time of about 2.5 hours.
Before heading to the location for the distribution of basic food assistance, the team from "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Center in Bekasi first visited the Lampung Province Social Office and was welcomed by the Head of Social Affairs Head, Ratna Fitriani.

“Thank you to the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and BRSLU "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi for all the attention that has been given to us, the Lampung provincial government in the context of preventing and handling COVID-19, as well as handling the tornado disaster emergency response that recently hit our brothers and sister in Tulang Bawang Regency. This assistance must be very useful and needed by our residents who are affected by COVID-19 and also the tornado," said Ratna.
The distribution of basic food assistance activities was attended by representatives of the Lampung Province Social Service, Joky Fernado and Heri Yansyah, Head of LKS LU Rismayanti and also the head of the local RT and the village secretary where representatives from the Social Service also took us to LKS LU Kharisma Bunda in Tulang Bawang Regency, .
"I thank the Minister of Social Affairs for the Elderly Center for entrusting our LKS to distribute aid to the elderly who are affected by COVID-19 and the tornado. I am very touched because this social assistance can be given to the elderly who are under the guidance of our LKS," said Rismayanti.
The provision of basic food assistance is given to groups that have not been touched by other social assistance, such as the Family Hope Program (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), Cash Social Assistance (BST), and Regular Social Assistance for the Social Rehabilitation Program.
The elderly under the guidance of Kharisma Bunda LKS LU who came also expressed their gratitude for the social assistance provided for basic necessities.
On this occasion, a team from the Bekasi "Budhi Dharma" Elderly Center to visit and directly provide basic food assistance to Juminten (89 years old) who was hit by a tornado. Her house was destroyed and her legs were injured due to falling debris from the tornado. When the team from the Elderly Center and LKS arrived, the condition of the house had already been repaired by the local government and other social organizations.
The distribution of basic food social assistance in Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung Province is proof of the distribution of social assistance to areas that are difficult to reach and areas affected by the tornado.
