BOGOR (4 December 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to campaign for efforts to respect, protect and fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities on the 4th day of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (HDI) 2021. This event was held at the ATENSI Creation Center (SKA) Ciungwanara Bogor.

 

In celebration of HDI 2021 at SKA Ciungwanara Bogor, several activities were carried out such as recording of e-KTP, Covid-19 vaccination, blood donation, handing over ATENSI support for persons with disabilities and other beneficiaries as well as touring the Inten Soeweno Center and Bogor Ciungwanara Center.

 

A total of 65 beneficiaries recorded e-KTP, 50 beneficiaries received Covid-19 vaccinations and 52 beneficiaries made blood donations.

 

"This is an educational, recreational, and tourism event for persons with disabilities. We also hold a recording of population data for persons with disabilities. Often they have difficulty getting a NIK. This is a collaboration with Disdukcapil, we make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights for population data," said Harry Hikmat, Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs representing the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini.

 

Harry said that blood donation activities were also carried out because persons with disabilities also wanted to share, donate blood for their brothers and sisters in need.

 

During the 2021 HDI celebration, the total ATENSI support provided was Rp. 9,761,871,864. This assistance was given at the opening of the HDI 2021 series of events at the Aneka Bhakti Building on December 1, 2021, amounting to Rp. 4,508,071,320 and during the celebration of HDI 2021 at Ciungwanara Center Bogor on December 4, 2021, for Rp. 5,253,800,544.

 

This ATENSI support was given to a total of 4,057 beneficiaries who are persons with disabilities, orphans, and the elderly. They are scattered in several areas in Sumatra, Java, and Bali.

 

This assistance consists of accessibility assistance such as electric wheelchairs, multi-purpose wheelchairs for cerebral palsy, commercial tricycle motors, crutches, walkers, adaptive canes to prosthetic limbs.

 

There is also entrepreneurship assistance for cloning, sewing, livestock, automotive workshops, printing, and laundry businesses. There is also assistance for basic needs for beneficiaries.

"At HDI 2021, we see a lot of potential for persons with disabilities. It can be in the fields of sports, skills. Even the Ministry of Social Affairs produces three-wheeled motorbikes tailored to the needs of persons with disabilities who assemble people with disabilities too. So our task is to strengthen each other, help each other provide a way for people with disabilities," said Diah Pitaloka, Member of Commission VIII DPR RI to the media crew.

The same thing was conveyed by Dante Rigmalia, Head of the National Commission for Disabilities (KND) that all parties need to provide equal opportunities to persons with disabilities so that all have the opportunity to develop.

These various aids are managed by the Social Rehabilitation Centers, namely the Inten Soeweno Center, the Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta, Tan Miyat Bekasi, Budhi Dharma Bekasi, Galih Pakuan Bogor, Ciungwanara Balai Bogor, Phala Martha Sukabumi, Melati Jakarta, Panasea Jakarta, Antasena Magelang, Satria Baturraden, Margo Laras Pati, Wyata Guna Bandung, Abiyoso Braille Literacy Center Bandung.

The commemoration of HDI 2021 was also attended by members of the National Commission for Disability (KND) commissioners. The members of the KND Commissioner have just been inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on December 1, 2021, to carry out the duties of monitoring, evaluating, advocating for the implementation of Respect, Protection, and Fulfillment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and other invitations.
