Children's Week Events 2021
JAKARTA (July 27, 2021) - Director of Children's
Social Rehabilitation, Kanya Eka Santi representing the Director General of
Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, attended the invitation of the Sayangi
Tunas Cilik Foundation as a speaker at the 2021 Child Support Week event.
On this occasion, Kanya
Eka Santi said that there were several cases of Victims of Parental Economic
Exploitation (EKBO) who were referred to the Children's Center of the Ministry
of Social Affairs.
In this case, the role of
the Directorate of Children of the Ministry of Social Affairs is to carry out
campaigns, advocacy, guidance, and technology for supervisors and social workers
as well as monitoring and evacuation. Meanwhile, the role of the Ministry of
Social Affairs’ Social Rehabilitation Center is to provide Social
Rehabilitation Assistance Services (ATENSI) using a family, community, and/or
residential-based approaches. Through activities to support the fulfillment of
a decent living, social care and/or child care, family support, therapy
(physical, psychosocial, mental, and spiritual), vocational training and
entrepreneurship development, social assistance, and accessibility support.
Special Protection for
Children as referred to in Article 59 paragraph (1) is carried out through the
following efforts, Quick handling, including physical, psychological, and
social treatment and/or rehabilitation, as well as prevention of diseases and
other health disorders; Psychosocial assistance during treatment until
recovery; Providing social assistance for children who come from
underprivileged families and; Providing protection and assistance in every
judicial process.
Six accesses to various
services, namely support and special access for child victims (physical,
psychosocial, mental/spiritual rehabilitation), continuing education and
psychosocial support services in schools and communities, peer support, family
support: reducing risk to families and communities, legal assistance and
compensation for victims, as well as life skills and preventing children from
becoming victims again.
ECPAT Indonesia's
National Coordinator, Ahmad Sofian, mentioned that the online sexual
exploitation of children includes child pornography, child sexual abuse
material (CSAM) and child sexual exploitation material (CSEM); Grooming Online;
SEXTING, Self-produced child's sensual content; SEXTORTION, Sexual extortion
from online grooming and sexting; Live Streaming, Sexual child online.
"From the above, the handling models are policies/legislation, criminal
justice, support for victims, technology, social platforms, and innovative
research," explained Ahmad Sofian.
