Commemorating HLUN 2022, Meohai Center Provides Atensi Program for Elderly in Tasikmalaya

TASIKMALAYA (May 28, 2022) – The Ministry of Social Affairs celebrates the 26th National Elderly Day (HLUN) 2022 in Tasikmalaya Regency. During the celebration, various series of events were held involving 39 Integrated Centers and Centers under MoSA in 39 sub-districts throughout Tasikmalaya Regency.

 

The Meohai Center in Kendari also enlivened the 26th HLUN in Ciawi District. Ciawi District is a sub-district located in the northern part of Tasikmalaya Regency and has a population of 58,928 people spread over 11 rural areas.

 

In celebration of the 26th HLUN in 2022, the Meohai Center distributed several Atensi programs to 11 villages in Ciawi District.

 

The assistance was distributed to 200 elderly in Ciawi District, Tasikmalaya Regency. The aid distributed included 200 food packages, 10 hearing aids (ABD), 20 reading glasses, 5 wheelchairs, 10 tripods for walking aids, 4 walkers, and 5 packages of entrepreneurial assistance.

 

The distribution of Assistance by the Meohai Center is assisted by Social Rehabilitation Companions and local village officials, simultaneously in 11 villages by collecting healthy elderly at their respective Village Halls, while for the elderly who are sick or unable to walk. The assistance is distributed using home visits.

 

One of the children of an elderly named Mak Edah (90 years old) from Bugel Village expressed his deepest gratitude for the Food Package Assistance given to his mother who was unable to walk.

 

"I am very grateful that MoSA has given food packages assistance because we need these necessities for my mother's needs. God willing, the assistance provided by MoSA will be very useful,” explained Mak Edah's son.

 

Not only Mak Edah and other elderly, but local village officials and residents also expressed their gratitude to MoSA for the assistance given to their residents.
