The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture and his
entourage were greeted directly by the Director of Child Social Rehabilitation
of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Kanya Eka Santi, and the Head of the
Mahatmiya Bali Center, Sri Wibowo at the Culinary and Artne Coffee stand.
Also present at the event were the Regional Secretary of Tabanan Regency
I Gede Susila, the Deputy for Coordination of Quality Improvement for Children,
Women, and Youth, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, and
the Head of the Tabanan Social Office.
Representing the Tabanan Regent, the Tabanan Regional Secretary
explained the support of the Tabanan Regency Government in social fields such as
the construction of sidewalks for people with disabilities and discussion of
regional regulations.
"The social sector is our main concern. We are currently working on
sidewalk construction on several roads. We are working on the legal umbrella
for our brothers and sisters (people with disabilities) so that later they will
have a legal basis for their work," he said.
Not only that, but he also collaborates with various parties to support the
social sector.
"We always foster cooperation with several parties, such as the
Mahatmiya Center which helps us in the distribution of assistance, and BNI
which always helps disburse KPM funds on time," he added.
On the same occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development
and Culture during a meeting with YATI-YAPI children and the elderly said that
the social sector was one of President Joko Widodo's concerns.
"I am also grateful that the social sector is very much considered.
Especially children who have been abandoned by their parents due to Covid-19. I
hope that they will receive fees until they graduate from high school,
especially up to the university level," said Effendy, starting the meeting.
The elderly is also a concern. "This makes me happy, the
elderly are cared for and given assistive devices to facilitate accessibility because I am also elderly, hopefully, I will also be cared for," he said
with a laugh, which was followed by laughter from the participants.
