JAKARTA (22 April 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs has decided to "deactivate" 21.156 million duplicate data. The decision is made in coordination with related institutions, including law enforcement.

“We have deactivated 21, 156 million duplicate data. So we ask the regional governments to immediately propose the names of beneficiaries. We open new data input to replace those who have moved, deceased, and so on, "said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini in a press conference for the launch of" New DTKS (Social Welfare Integrated Data) "at the Ministry of Social Affairs Office, Jakarta (21/04).

The duplicate data are double names or receiving double assistances. To overcome this, said the Social Minister, multiple names needed to be removed, leaving only one name/data.

"This is for the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT)," she said. To ensure its accountability, the process needs to go through established mechanisms and procedures, including providing an official report.

The Social Minister confirmed that the decision was made in coordination with related institutions. Namely the National Police, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia

"Previously we have coordinated with the National Police, KPK, BPKP, Attorney General, and Financial Services Authority (OJK)," said the Social Minister. As an effort to update data and strengthen the integrity of DTKS, the Social Minister ensures that the process is carried out by involving relevant stakeholders.

"This is a form of transparency to ensure the process runs in accordance with applicable regulations," she said. In monthly meetings, the Ministry of Social Affairs also involves Bank Indonesia (BI), State Bank Association (Himbara), the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and so on.

In this regard, the Social Minister calls on regional governments to actively update data. Including submitting new data in accordance with the data updating cycle implemented by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

On this occasion, the Social Minister stated that the Ministry of Social Affairs invited regional governments to submit new data or data corrections in the first and second week of every month while the third and fourth weeks are used to finalize preparations for distribution of assistance in coordination with banks.

The Ministry of Social Affairs manages DTKS which includes the People Needing Social Welfare Services (PPKS), Recipients of Social Assistance and Empowerment as well as Potency and Sources of Social Welfare (PSKS).

DTKS contains 40% of the population with the lowest social welfare status. Based on the Decree of the Social Minister of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 146 / HUK / 2020 established in October 2020, there are around 96 million individuals or 27 million households with the lowest welfare status in Indonesia.

Furthermore, DTKS is used to improve the target quality of social protection programs. DTKS helps program planning and improves the use of social protection program budgets and resources.

By using data from the DTKS, the number of targeted beneficiaries of the program can be analyzed from the start in program planning. Hopefully, this will reduce errors in targeting social protection programs.
