BEKASI (June 18, 2020) - The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on people's lives with a new normal era. The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Minister of Social Affairs Circular Letter Number 5 of 2020 assigned the protocol for the employee work system in the new normal era.
The Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, gave directions to all employees of the "Pangudi Luhur" Bekasi Social Rehabilitation Center for Ex Homeless and Beggars (BRSEGP). "The work we carry out is included in the category of public services, especially in fulfilling basic needs. So in conditions like this, we must continue to carry out optimal services while still paying attention to health protocols," he said.
The "Pangudi Luhur" Center has carried out its function as a temporary shelter for displaced residents affected by COVID-19. This function will continue to be carried out in partnership with institutions at the grassroots level.
Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) through temporary shelters provides basic needs services, family support, social care, case response, psychosocial therapy, skills training and entrepreneurship.
The Head of Center, Kokom Komalawati reported to the Director General of Social Rehabilitation that so far 82 social welfare service recipients who have received temporary shelter services with budget realization has reached 50.78% in June.

Harry said that the staff of the "Pangudi Luhur" Center must be more pro-active by aggressively conducting outreach. Interact and approach the homeless, beggars, scavengers, silver people and people with disabilities who beg on the streets. Offer them to get services at the "Pangudi Luhur" Center.
"There is a child who want to get services, go to the Center but at home there is a grandmother who is sick. With this condition it is impossible for us to force the child to come to the Center. Therefore, the Center needs to provide family-based services," said Harry.
The current institutional-based service paradigm must transform into family/community based. So when they don't want to get services in the Center, we provide family or community based services. Assessment of social workers must be carried out comprehensively, so that it can be used as a basis in determining the right service for service needs.
Harry prepares "Pangudi Luhur" Center to be the centerlink piloting of social rehabilitation services for the category of socially disabled and victims of trafficking in persons in 2021.
In carrying out business processes in a situation like this, Kokom said that this was not an obstacle but a challenge for all "Pangudi Luhur" Center employees. Each employee is always reminded to keep wearing a mask while in the office, while maintaining physical and social distance. Masks, hand sanitizer and hand soap have also been distributed to each employee.
Harry left a message to all employees to maintain health by increasing immunity, structural members also need to consider adding vitamins for employees.
Employees are encouraged to immediately communicate to the leadership if health conditions are not good because currently there is flexibility in setting work locations in accordance with the Circular of the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform.
Employees can carry out Work From Home (WFH) by considering the type of work, mastery of technology, health and place of residence that are still enforced by PSBB. Employees who carry out Work From Office (WFO) are encouraged to comply with the Decree of the Minister of Health regarding Guidelines for Prevention and Control of COVID-19 in the Workplace.
