Director General of Social Rehabilitation Receives an Audience from the Martin James Foundation
JAKARTA (October 28, 2019) - Director General of Social Rehabilitation Edi Suharto accompanied by Director of Child Social Rehabilitation Kanya Eka Santi received an audience from the Martin James Foundation. This hearing discussed the development of Foster Care in Indonesia and how the Martin James Foundation can support this program.
Martin James Cockburn as Chairman of the Martin James Foundation stated that in the near future he will conduct studies in advance in several locations to find out how the childcare process is in the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. The study locations that were planned to be chosen were in West Java, Yogyakarta and Aceh. Things that will be the focus of the study are starting from the mechanism for submission of foster parents, the readiness of children to be cared for, to strengthening the foster parents.
The hearing was also attended by Ikhsan from the Muhammadiyah Foundation and Andri from Save the Children. Both of these institutions are partners of the Ministry of Social Affairs in dealing with children's issues.
