DUMAI (2
December 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social
Rehabilitation Center “Abiseka” Pekanbaru conducted the distribution of Social
Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) support to 76 beneficiaries consisting of 30
elderly, 28 persons with disabilities, and 18 children requiring special
protection that had been recorded and assessed by rehabilitation assistants in
6 sub-districts in Dumai City.
The Mayor of
Dumai, who in this case was represented by the Regional Secretary of Dumai
City, Mr. H. Indra Gunawan, was also present to appreciate the activities
carried out symbolically at the Dumai City Social Service.
The ATENSI
component assistance provided includes support for fulfilling a decent living
and accessibility assistance in the form of 1 unit of special wheelchair for
cerebral palsy, 3 units of 4 in 1 wheelchair, 4 units of 3 in 1 wheelchair, 2
units of child wheelchair, 1 unit of hand crutches, 3 walker units, 4 units of
4-foot sticks, 17 units of hearing aids, and 31 units of medical mattresses.
The total
assistance that has been given is 295,371,000 including attention assistance
for orphans/fatherless/motherless victims of Covid 19 and children needing the
development of social functions at the Child Welfare Institutions (LKSA).
In his
remarks, Head of Center Ahmad Subarkah said, "The distribution of this aid
is a manifestation of the slogan of the Ministry of Social Affairs Presents,
which is to be present in the community. Therefore, we expect coordination and
participation from local governments so that the process of distributing
community assistance can run well. "
The Regional
Secretary of Dumai City expressed his appreciation to Abiseka Pekanbaru,
"thanks to Abiseka Pekanbaru for the attention and assistance to the Dumai
City, hopefully, our community can become a prosperous society," said Indra
Gunawan.
Also
supported by Acting Head of the Dumai City Social Office, Afrilagan, who said,
"The Dumai City Government gives the highest appreciation to the Center,
the number of disabilities and the elderly is quite large, the government has
also provided assistance but if assisted by the Ministry of Social Affairs it will
be more helpful and very useful," said Africa.
In addition
to distributing aid at the Dumai City Social Office, the Pekanbaru Abiseka Center
team, accompanied by the Social Office and Dumai City assistants, directly
visited the homes of beneficiaries who were unable to attend.
