Fulfilling the Right of Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities, "Ciungwanara" Distributes Hearing Aids
CIBINONG (July 27, 2021) - To fulfill the rights
of persons with disabilities to assistive devices, the Ministry of Social
Affairs through the Ciungwanara Center has distributed Hearing Aids (ABD) to 4
people with hearing and speech disabilities from Bogor.
"We strive so that Persons with
Disabilities who are in the coverage area of Ciungwanara Social
Rehabilitation Center can access their right to assistive devices as mandated
by Law No. 8 of 2016 on persons with disabilities," explained Head of
Ciungwanara Center Siti Sari Rukmayanti.
Sari further explained that the ABD
provided was ABD with lifelong aftercare services, so that at any time the
recipient could consult regarding ABD if there were problems with usage and so
on.
Before the distribution of assistive
devices, Ciungwanara Social Worker has conducted an assessment first, so that
the aids provided are truly following the conditions of Persons with
Disabilities
The parents of one of the recipients of
aids, a.n. M., were very happy with the provision of aids by the Ministry of
Social Affairs through Ciungwanara Center. "My child can't hear since he
was born and until now has never used a hearing aid. When we heard that our
child received a hearing aid, we were very happy, especially when we saw that
my son could respond to sounds like he is now," she said with teary eyes.
The distribution of these aids is in
collaboration with PT ABDI (Indonesian Hearing Aids) which at the time of the
activity was represented by Rizki Wicaksono, one of the hearing aid
consultants. Rizki explained that this hearing aid has a lifetime warranty and
accepts repairs at all ABDI branches.
