CIBINONG (July 27, 2021) - To fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities to assistive devices, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Ciungwanara Center has distributed Hearing Aids (ABD) to 4 people with hearing and speech disabilities from Bogor.

 

"We strive so that Persons with Disabilities who are in the coverage area of ​​ Ciungwanara Social Rehabilitation Center can access their right to assistive devices as mandated by Law No. 8 of 2016 on persons with disabilities," explained Head of Ciungwanara Center Siti Sari Rukmayanti.

 

Sari further explained that the ABD provided was ABD with lifelong aftercare services, so that at any time the recipient could consult regarding ABD if there were problems with usage and so on.

 

Before the distribution of assistive devices, Ciungwanara Social Worker has conducted an assessment first, so that the aids provided are truly following the conditions of Persons with Disabilities

 

The parents of one of the recipients of aids, a.n. M., were very happy with the provision of aids by the Ministry of Social Affairs through Ciungwanara Center. "My child can't hear since he was born and until now has never used a hearing aid. When we heard that our child received a hearing aid, we were very happy, especially when we saw that my son could respond to sounds like he is now," she said with teary eyes.

 

The distribution of these aids is in collaboration with PT ABDI (Indonesian Hearing Aids) which at the time of the activity was represented by Rizki Wicaksono, one of the hearing aid consultants. Rizki explained that this hearing aid has a lifetime warranty and accepts repairs at all ABDI branches.

 

In the future, Ciungwanara Center will distribute assistive devices consisting of hearing aids, wheelchairs, gea crutches, AFO shoes, and other aids for around 365 Persons with Disabilities spread across the West Java region.
