BANTAENG (27 June 2021) - Located in the Bantaeng Regency Government Pattern Room, the Ministry of Social Affairs through Gowa "Gau Mabaji" Center and Palu "Nipotowe" Center signed a cooperation agreement with the Bantaeng Regency Regional Government in the implementation of the Social Rehabilitation Assistance Program (ATENSI).

 

The ATENSI program is a social rehabilitation service that uses a family-based, community, and residential approach through activities to fulfill a decent life, family support, social care, physical therapy, vocational/entrepreneurial training, social assistance, and accessibility support.

 

In line with the ATENSI program, the Bantaeng Regency Government also has the BAIKTUNTAS (Bantaeng Cares for the Welfare of the Elderly and People with Disabilities) program which aims to provide social support for the basic needs of the elderly and disabled as well as social advocacy assistance from the Regional Government.

 

The Head of Gowa's "Gau Mabaji" Center, represented by the Coordinator of Assessment and Social Advocacy, Subhan Kadir, in his remarks, said that the signing of this MoU was in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs as a form of the complementary synergy between Central Government programs and Regional Governments in implementing social welfare services.

 

On the same occasion, the Head of the Palu "Nipotowe" Center, Syaiful Samad, expressed his hope that in the future every district would have a program that is friendly to the disabled and the elderly.

 

"The follow-up to the signing of this MoU, in addition to implementing the ATENSI Program, is that the Center will facilitate and support the formation of the Regent's Regulation on the Elderly and Disabled in Bantaeng Regency," said Syaiful in his remarks.

 

The signing of the cooperation agreement was attended by the Regent of Bantaeng Ilham Syah Azikin accompanied by Assistant II, the Head of the Social Service and the UPT Sipakatau SLRT Service Manager.

 

In his remarks, the Regent of Bantaeng said that the synergy that had been built between the Bantaeng Regional Government and the Gowa "Gau Mabaji" Center and the Palu "Nipotowe" Center in the form of an MoU was ready to make Bantaeng district a pilot project location for various programs from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

 

This MoU signing activity was coupled with activities to increase the capacity of elderly caregivers through training activities for elderly companions (caregivers).

 

A total of 35 SLRT assistants will become substitute families for 105 elderly and every 3 assistants will serve 3 elderly. They get training materials from the speakers who come from practitioners and academics.
