– One of the empowerments for Persons in Need of Social Welfare Services (PPKS)
is through Nusantara Economic Heroes (PENA) Program which needs assistance to
be advanced to the next level.
“In the future, PENA beneficiaries should be assisted from using traditional ways to learn how to trade or transact by using electronic devices or digitally,” Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said in PENA TV through Zoom Meeting on Sunday (October 15th, 2023).
The Minister said that for example Surabaya Economic Heroes while the Covid-19 pandemic happened. Their transaction increased, and one of the reasons was due to selling digitally. They could still sell at home.
“In the future, there should be an ID Card for the seller to promote their products through social media without paying advertisement fees. However, you must be taught the tricks so that you won’t get conned by fictitious customers who have bad intentions. Every Saturday and Sunday, there is training so that PENA beneficiaries will be assisted. If there are any suspicious orders, you can consult, and that is better than realizing after being conned,” Minister of Social Affairs said.
In PENA Program, the Minister conveys four important messages to the beneficiaries to be advanced to the next level and not only sell in, but in certain time they can be prosperous for themselves and their environment.
“First, my message is that there’s always a risk in business. We have to minimize it by understanding the ways, which are preparing data, more complete ID cards, name cards with braille letters, and adapting to promote products by using technology such as social media,” she said.
The beneficiaries should also be aware when they get a good profit, they should not have fun by buying something they don’t need that causes them to be negligent with their bookkeeping. They need to increase the sales.
“I hope you will be disciplined, and that’s key to being a successful entrepreneur. Don’t be negligent when the sale increases. You need to pay attention to the financial management. Please follow with discipline. There will be time for you to buy a house, car, and many others,” the Minister said.
There’s nothing impossible, but the beneficiaries have to continue studying and making innovation because a product has its own time, from the perspective of motive, color, size, uniqueness, and the trend that is currently popular.
“Like clothing that was produced yesterday, the entrepreneur has to keep on making innovations with new patterns, models, even new colors, and materials. Thus, the product will be awaited by the customers due to its innovation,” Minister of Social Affairs added.
PENA entrepreneurs shouldn’t forget to maintain relationships with fellow entrepreneurs because it will strengthen and support the business running.
“The entrepreneur may buy another entrepreneur’s food product or otherwise. Establish friendship and communication, at least with close friends. Everyone is equal before God, and there’s nothing impossible for God if you want to learn and don’t give up in whatever condition. Keep the spirit up, Everyone,” the Minister said.
