Helping PPKS in Pariaman Regency, MoSA Distributes Social Assistance Worth IDR 45 Billion

PARIAMAN (July 6^th, 2024) - Ministry of Social Affairs’ (MoSA) efforts in distributing social assistance on target and effectively continued to be carried out, one of them was building synergy with Commission VIII of The House of Representative of Republic Indonesia (DPR RI). To review the assistance distribution in Pariaman Regency. Commission VIII conducted a specific working visit on July 6^th to the Social and Women Empowerment and Children Protection Office in Pariaman Regency.

Representing the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Head of Social Welfare Education and Training Center (BBPPKS) Padang, Serimika Br. Karo, informed that the social assistance currently being distributed was worth IDR 45,618,822,946. This assistance included the Family Hope Program (PKH), Basic Food Assistance, Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) for decent life fulfillment, Entrepreneurship ATENSI, as well as aids for the elderly and persons with disabilities. The distribution of the assistance was expected to have a positive impact on the well-being of the people in the Pariaman Regency.

T.B. Ace Hasan Syadzily, Deputy Chairman of the Commission VIII as well as the group leader of the Working Visit in Pariaman Regency, emphasized the importance of the local government’s role in supporting social welfare programs. “I hope the local government will support social welfare programs by distributing it on target,” Ace said.

Fitri, one of the beneficiaries of decent life fulfillment assistance, couldn’t hold back her tears when she received the assistance. The assistance was a birthday present for her son, Aqif Faruk, who had been bedridden since last month. “Today is Aqif’s fourth birthday. He has been ill for a month. Thank you very much for the assistance, for helping us submit Social Security Body for Health (BPJS), and also the aids. May my son recover quickly,” Fitri said gratefully.

The working visit represented the synergy between Ministry of Social Affairs and the House of Representatives. Under the collaboration, social assistance was hoped to be distributed more evenly and provide significant benefits to the beneficiaries.
