TASIKMALAYA (May 28, 2022) - Commemoration of the 26th National Elderly Day (HLUN) in 2022 is centered in Tasikmalaya Regency which includes 39 Districts. The Ministry of Social Affairs through Mulya Jaya Center distributed ATENSI program in 2 (two) Districts, namely Sukaraja and Parungponteng.

The total ATENSI program distributed was IDR 953 million for 807 elderly with various types of assistance for the Fulfillment of Decent Living in the form of necessities, nutrition, medicines, and clothing. Then accessibility support assistance in the form of Hearing Aids, adaptive wheelchairs, standard wheelchairs, 3 and 4 leg sticks, walkers, adaptive sticks, nebulizers, and glasses.

Furthermore, for the elderly who are still potential and active in their daily activities, entrepreneurship assistance is provided in the form of livestock, stalls, sewing, and food businesses.

In addition to the ATENSI provided, there is also uninhabitable housing assistance (Rutilahu) for the elderly in the 2 sub-districts.

The elderly feel very helpful with the assistance, especially the elderly whose conditions are very poor and live alone without family. One of the elderly who received assistance with mattresses, sheets, and pillows, who had been sleeping on the mats, was very happy to receive assistance.

"Thank God, thank MoSA, thank you for your help. Now my family and I can sleep on the bed", said Grandpa Husna.

In addition, this benefit is also felt by Grandma Emus, one of the elderly who is still actively selling opak.

"Usually I can only buy one kilo of material, ma'am. Thank you very much for the help. I hope my business will continue to run smoothly," she said.

The head of the Mulya Jaya Center, Adrianus Alla, explained that the ATENSI program received by the elderly was based on the results of a comprehensive assessment carried out by Social Workers and companions with direct observations and interviews at their place of residence.

"The purpose of the assessment is to know the needs of the elderly appropriately according to their condition", explained Adri.

The HALUN 2022 Peak Event will be attended by the Minister of Social Affairs on Sunday, May 29, 2022, which will be centered at Singaparna Medika Citrautama Hospital (SMC) and will be attended by all Districts via teleconference.
