PAREPARE (18 June 2021) - The Elderly Center "Gau Mabaji" carried out a case response to the elderly at Andi Makkasau Hospital in Parepare City, South Sulawesi Province.

 

"M" (61 Years) was once an Indonesian Migrant Worker (TKI) in Malaysia who finally had to be sent home since May 30, 2021, through BP2MI UPT South Sulawesi Province due to her declining health condition.

 

The health condition of "M" required her to receive 44 days of treatment at the hospital “Andi Makkasau” of Parepare City.

 

The Arrival of the "Gau Mabaji" Elderly Case Response Team to the Hospital Andi Makkasau Parepare City in an effort to follow up on complaints from BP2MI UPT South Sulawesi Province and the Makassar City Manpower and Transmigration Office to get further treatment after hospitalization.

 

"Initially we didn't know where to place after post-treatment at the hospital because the elderly did not have a family, thankfully there was information that conveyed the existence of a Balai in Gowa Regency was able to handle this problem. It didn't take long, our communication was responded to quickly and well by the parties. "Gau Mabaji" Elderly Center, said Dika from the Makassar City Manpower and Transmigration Office

 

In the care of "M" in the hospital of Makkasau City of Parepare received treatment from several specialist doctors. "The condition of "M" has now improved from the previous one, it's just that she still need intensive care because her swallowing ability has decreased and she needs to be fitted with a Nasogastric Tube (NGT) to make it easier for the elderly to meet her intake" then she can be treated at home, said the doctor.

 

Not only health problems, but "M" has no contact with family. "For M, we will give further treatment at the Gau Mabaji Elderly Center and then we will find out the whereabouts of her family," said Subhan Kadir who was part of the case response team.
