TASIKMALAYA (May 29, 2022) - Ministry of Social Affairs Present in the community through the Integrated Center "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" together with Sariwangi District, Tasikmalaya Regency participated in the 26th National Elderly Day (HLUN) activity which was opened by the Minister of Social Affairs directly at Tasikmalaya Regency SMC Hospital and was followed by live virtual by 39 sub-districts in Tasikmalaya Regency.

 

The lively implementation of the HLUN in Sariwangi District was attended by the elderly, cadres, muspika, PKH companions, and TKSK totaling 350. The activity was enlivened with health services consisting of physical examinations, blood pressure checks, health checks, and counseling, and the elderly received social assistance packages in the form of necessities, nutrition, clothing, and mobility equipment. The event was also enlivened by the performance of Degung Tasikmalaya.

 

In the 26th HLUN activity in the District of Sariwangi Integrated Center, "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Surakarta distributed a total of 266 packages, with details of 168 food packages, 40 nutrition packages, 45 clothing packages, and 23 aids such as hearing aids, wheelchairs for the elderly in 8 (eight) villages in Sariwangi sub-district the total aid is IDR 148,000,000. The day before, the Integrated Center team "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Surakarta accompanied the elderly in the audiometric examination of the elderly who will receive hearing aids at the Tasik Hearing Center, Tasikmalaya City.

 

In addition, the Directorate of Social Empowerment gave fish feed entrepreneurship assistance IDR 58.000.000,- and the construction of Uninhabitable Houses (RTLH) for poor single elderly, Mr. Samyi, in Linggasirna Village worth IDR 20,000,000,-. The Integrated Center "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Surakarta helped assist with packages for Mr. Samyi's home renovation consisting of mattresses, cupboards, stoves, gas, shelves, plates, and so on as well as clothing assistance in the form of clothes, sarongs, pants, and skullcaps.

 

In this activity, the elderly seemed very happy. Representatives of the elderly who were allowed to hear the audience expressed many thanks, especially to the Minister of Social Affairs for the social assistance provided. Hopefully, the 26th HLUN event that has been carried out can increase awareness of the Indonesian Elderly and the social assistance that has been provided provides benefits to the community.
