BANDUNG (July 27, 2020) –“Kahuripan” Center in Sukabumi holds Capacity Building which was attended by 22 participants consisting of Social Welfare Institutions(LKS) and Social Services located in the area of the center’s coverage, namely the Province of DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, East Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

The activity was held to increase the strengthening of the role of strategic partners in aid management related to social welfare services for people with HIV and was a follow-up to the Coordination Meeting held on 8 July 2020 and was opened by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, accompanied by the Director of Social Rehabilitation of Persons with Social Deviance Issues (RSTS), Waskito Budi Kusumo.

"Social Welfare Institutions are strategic partners who play an important role in preventing and handling social problems, especially for PLWH in this focus. Community involvement is to strengthen psychosocial which will later support system strengthening," said Harry Hikmat.

He added, in the implementation of social rehabilitation services, three important things are needed that are mutually sustainable, namely: Family, Community, and Residential. The family is the best place for the beneficiaries. Therefore, family support must be strengthened, in order to realize the fulfillment of the rights and needs of PLWH.

The community is closest to the PLWH family. So, the community must be strengthened through LKS to be more sensitive and responsive in preventing and handling problems experienced by PLWH.

Residential services are the last alternative that functions as a centrelink so that the focus of their services is more focused on increasing the capacity of Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPT)&Social Welfare Institutions(LKS) to provide strengthening family support so that PLWH can return to their families and communities as soon as possible.

At the end of the opening ceremony, the Director General of Social Rehabilitation accompanied by the Director of RSTS had the opportunity to symbolically provide nutritional social assistance worth Rp. 150 million for 50 PLHIV assisted by LKS PetikKuningan, self-reliance social assistance worth Rp. 250 million for 50 PLHIV assisted by the Victory Plus Foundation in Yogyakarta, as well as operational assistance for the organization for the Victory Plus Foundation in Yogyakarta in the amount of Rp. 10 million.
