BOGOR (13 Juli 2020) - All employees of the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities (BRSPDI) “Ciungwanara” Bogor held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Business Assistance Process for the Social Rehabilitation of People with Intellectual Disabilities led by the Director of Social Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (RSPD), Eva Rahmi Kasim, accompanied by the Head of the Intellectual Sub-Directorate , Sumiatun, and Head of BRSPDI "Ciungwanara" Bogor, Esa Sumantri, in the BRSPDI "Ciungwanara" Bogor Meeting Room which was held on July 13 and 15 2020.

The Head of the Intellectual Sub-Directorate, Sumiatun, started the technical explanation of the FGD, followed by an explanation from the Director of the RSPD, a question and answer session, and inputs from “Ciungwanara” employees for the preparation of guidelines for the Assistance of Persons with Disabilities. Eva explained that attention includes basic needs services, family support, social care, skills training and entrepreneurial inclusion, and psychosocial therapy. Attention can be family, community and residential based. Attention is dynamic, flexible, synergistic depending on the results of the assessment. The implementers of attention are social rehabilitation assistants, LKS, and the Social Rehabilitation Center.

"The Center has a very important task and role for the sustainability of social rehabilitation," said Eva. He also explained the plan for the social rehabilitation assistance program for people with disabilities in 2021, ensuring that the target of 48,000 people with disabilities can have their basic needs met, can access therapy, get social care and family support, and get skills training and entrepreneurial inclusion.

At the end of the discussion, PM “Ciungwanara” handed over the results of the skills as a keepsake to the Director of the RSPD. The FGD will be continued on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 with speakers from the Bandung Social Welfare Polytechnic (Poltekesos), Meiti Subardhini and Rini Hartini Rindha. The material that will be discussed in the next FGD is the Case Conference, Assessment, Intervention and Analysis of Social Functionality.

The purpose of holding this FGD was to discuss the duties, functions and roles of the office related to the Business Process of Social Rehabilitation Assistance for Persons with Disabilities, to equate the same mindset to encourage the acceleration of the implementation of Social Rehabilitation Assistance for Persons with Disabilities, and to prepare recommendations and as input in the preparation of guidelines for social rehabilitation assistance for persons with disabilities.
