GROBOGAN (October 20, 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center Margo Laras in Pati with members of Commission VIII DPR RI handed over Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) support to persons with physical and visual sensory disabilities and some Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) at the PGRI Building.

 

Some ATENSI support were given symbolically including in the form of 363 nutrition and health food packages for 18 LKS, assistance for accessibility of assistive devices in the form of 3 medical wheelchairs for persons with physical disabilities, 8 adaptive sticks, and 1 talking cell phone for persons with visual sensory disabilities as a follow-up of the results of an assessment by the professional team of Margo Laras Pati.

 

"We would like to thank Margo Laras Center for providing ATENSI support for LKS and persons with disabilities in the Grobogan area, wheelchairs, and adaptive sticks are very useful for them," said Head of the Social Office of Grobogan Regency, Edi.

 

Head of Margo Laras Center, Jiwaningsih said that the ATENSI support provided was a follow-up to the results of the previous professional team assessment through direct home visits to beneficiaries to identify the need for assistive devices or other social problems so that they were right on target and effective, for adaptive wheelchairs are still in progress which will be measured first.

 

Tri Gunawan, one of the recipients of ATENSI support for the accessibility of adaptive sticks, expressed his happiness in getting this tool, because the cane he had was broken, except for hoping to get a cane, Tri also wanted to take massage training if possible, because he had the basics of massage during school at Yaketunis Yogyakarta.

 

"I also thank Margo Laras Center for providing cane assistance to my brother Suryanto, who is currently still in college," said Tri.

 

After the symbolic handover, Margo Laras Center officers guided and trained beneficiaries in using adaptive sticks.
