Several points in the city of Medan were
flooded due to continuous rainfall for several days. Floods often occur during
the rainy season due to poor drainage conditions.
There were no casualties due to this flood, but
several residents suffered material and non-material losses. In addition,
residents were forced to evacuate to safer places, including to rest at night.
The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini,
instructed Bahagia Center to respond quickly to the flood disaster in Medan
City. The team was assigned to immediately coordinate with the local government and
monitor and record the urgent needs of flood-affected residents.
Until now, the flood has receded, but the Team
still urges residents to be prepared considering the rain that persists
every day.
