Minister Risma Distributes 50 Carts to Underprivileged Families in Tasikmalaya
TASIKMALAYA (3 July 2024) – Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, distributed 50 warmindo carts, complete with supplies and equipment, to underprivileged families in the City and Regency of Tasikmalaya, West Java, on Wednesday afternoon (3/7). The Bandung Social Welfare Polytechnic (Poltekesos), which is part of the Ministry of Social Affairs, and PT Indofood Sukses Makmur collaborated to distribute these carts, hence the name Warmindo Carts (Warung Makan Indomie).
Minister Risma handed over the Warmindo Carts at Tasikmalaya City Hall, stating that the beneficiaries had previously received entrepreneurial training in product design, sales, and financial literacy. With the support provided by Indofood, the beneficiaries are now more motivated to succeed in their businesses. "Many have already succeeded, and you can too, as long as you are diligent and never give up," Minister Risma said to the beneficiaries.
The 50 beneficiaries of the Warmindo Carts include 25 people from the City of Tasikmalaya and 25 others from the Regency of Tasikmalaya. All the beneficiaries are underprivileged families enrolled in the Family Hope Program (PKH). They have completed different training sessions and are ready for graduation, which means they can earn more than the regional minimum wage and become financially self-sufficient. Minister Risma admitted that entrepreneurship is difficult owing to the numerous hurdles involved. "But you must not give up or get tired. Keep trying, and you will succeed," Minister Risma encouraged.
Triyami (47), a resident of Leuwiliang District, one of the training participants and Warmindo Cart beneficiaries, thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs for providing the cart and entrepreneurship support. Triyami sells meatballs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. after teaching early childhood education (PAUD) classes. "Now I will be even more motivated to run my business," Triyami remarked, vowing to keep teaching at PAUD. "Thank you, Mrs. Risma, for giving so much to our family," she said.
