Ministry of Social Affairs Distributes Assistance to a Family Living in the Gardens
MAJALENGKA (21 April 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through the "Mulya Jaya" Training Center in Jakarta provided
assistance to a family which on April 15 had already been assessed and
identified their problems and needs. Jeni and Melani, a husband and wife and
their four children live in a hut in the middle of a garden owned by residents
in Parung Jaya Village, Leuwimunding District, Majalengka Regency.
Based on the results of
the assessment, Jeni and Melani’s families need fulfillment of basic needs such
as food for children and cooking utensils for business. This is following the
direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, and the Director
General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat to ensure that the assistance
provided is empowering them for sustainable independence. Following up on the
results of the assessment, "Mulya Jaya" Training Center moved quickly
to distribute the assistance.
Director of Social Rehabilitation
for the Persons with Social Deviance Issues and Human Trafficking Victims,
Waskito Budi Kusumo explained that this was a Social Rehabilitation Assistance
(ATENSI) program which had become a program of the Ministry of Social Affairs
in providing dynamic, integrative, and complementary services to the Persons
who Need Social Welfare Services (PPKS).
"This is a real form
of ATENSI carried out for PPKS. Through this assistance, it is hoped that a
family will not only fulfill their basic needs but also become more empowered
and independent", said Budi.
Head of the Center, Ai
Herliyah, accompanied by the Head of Sub Division of Administration Muchyidin,
Coordinator of the Social Assessment and Advocacy Section, Agung Santoso, who
participated in this activity, hoped that the assistance provided could meet
their basic needs.
"Hopefully this assistance can be useful for Jenni and Melani's family. Besides, I hope that this assistance can fulfill their basic needs and increase their independence by starting a business according to their abilities. By instilling motivation and fighting power to live a better life. Then it is related to administrative matters such as KTP (ID Card), KK (Family Card), and others. Jeni as a husband can be more cooperative with local officials so that they can access existing assistance programs ", explained Ai.
