Ministry of Social Affairs Provides Rehabilitation Services for Punk Children as Drug Victims
TEMANGGUNG (April 21, 2021) - The Indonesian Ministry
of Social Affairs through the Baturraden “Satria” Resident Center conducted
outreach of punk children who were indicated to be the victims of drug abuse,
psychotropic and other addictive substances in Temanggung Regency, Central
Java.
This activity is a
collaboration between the Baturraden “Satria” Resident Center with the
Temanggung Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) and the Temanggung Regency
Social Service. Based on the results of the screening conducted by BNNK
Temanggung for beggars, homeless people, and displaced people (PGOT); four punk children were indicated to have drug abuse. They come from
Temanggung, Wonosobo, Banjarnegara, and Magetan, aged 18 to 25 years.

Child Protection Shelter Social Service, the Addiction Counselor from the Baturraden
“Satria” Resident Center conducted a rapid assessment of the four punk
children. Furthermore, they will receive social rehabilitation services at the Baturraden
“Satria” Resident Center.

“Satria” Resident Center, Darmo, expressed his gratitude for the cooperation
that has been carried out. "This is the first step of synergy in providing
social rehabilitation services. And of course, this collaboration does not stop
here," said Darmo.
Sub-Coordinator of the
Head of Rehabilitation Section for BNNK Temanggung, Djoko Sulistyono, conveyed
the same thing. "If a similar case is found and requires rehabilitation
services, we will contact the Baturraden “Satria” Resident Center," said
Djoko.
Secretary of Social
Service for Temanggung Regency, Juli Riastiana, expressed her hope that these
punks can recover from drug dependence. "They still have a future, so we
hope that these children can recover from drug addiction," said Juli.
